Been saying since I first saw him, if he would just learn to sit down on a punch, he has skills. I don't get guys with a high skill level who refuse to throw hard punches. I get being cautious, but it is hard to get excited at clinching and winning a UD. It is confusing. Haney is obviously a strong guy.

I think the weight cutting might have been a factor and we may see more pop in his shots at the higher weight classes. It's no coincidence he relinquished his 135 belts mid-training camp, I suspect he's realised how much better he feels. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does.

Okay. You may not like his fighting style or think he beat Loma, but when it comes to opponent selection and willingness to make fights he's been one of the standout guys for a few years now. Not many young American boxers go abroad to make big fights.
