Longer rounds means it will take longer to fast forward. So I say no.
Can women actually do 3 min rounds if they want? Sure whatever. But should they be required to go topless just like the men? Absolutely.

In the professional ranks, another goal is to make as much money as you can for as little work as possible. If you can KO your opponent in the first 30 seconds, do it. I can't imagine a football player asking for each quarter to be extend an extra 5 minutes. Why on earth would a boxer, male or female, ask for longer rounds and more of them? What, so they can take more damage? It's *insane.

Ladies, be happy that you're only required to demonstrate your skills for 20 punishing minutes (10 two minute rounds) instead of over 36 (12 three minute rounds). You'll be healthier, happier, and better paid for it.

        Sincerely,

Because it's harder to finish your opponent in 2 min rounds than in 3 min rounds. Women's fights are almost guaranteed to go the distance as a result. If you hurt your opponent at the end of the second minute, she gets to rest with 2 min rounds. In a 3 min round, she's got to last a minute while hurt. So you have to take more rounds of punches yourself even winning, when you could have just been done and gone home early. Serrano has hurt opponents in the first round, but been unable to finish in a few seconds, when she probably could have given another minute to work.

You'd see a lot fewer finishes in men's fights if they had to fight 2 min rounds. Take a look at how many fights are finished in the third minute of a round sometime. You will find it enlightening.

I love women....I love women's tennis, gymnastics, figure skating, there are many sports women compete which are amazing to watch. But boxing?

Can we start an over 50 fat guy boxing league, where guys go in and wing haymakers with no power, over and over.....where both guys get bloodied noses and yet never go down? I mean, I want to be represented in the sport as well.

No, but I'll watch those dudes play golf or poker and it is a fun watch.

The skill level and entertainment value should drive the growth of the sport. It is just boring and low skill 99% of the time. If they want to fight fine, but can we just put it on it's own card? And let high level boxing take it's place on the undercards of men's fights?
One of your points is exactly the main issue. They can throw a million haymakers, and only get a bloody nose and no KOs.
It seems exciting but there's no payoff. It's like watching baseball players that can barely hit it to the outfield and never hit a home run. Same game, no gravy. Going from 6 to 9 innings wont help anything.
As for watching fat guys, no. And Im not watching anyone, men or women, play tennis, gymnastics, golf, or figure skating either.

            This is true.

I think I just get a bit ill watching women get hurt, even in a sanctioned sport.

Oh man, John Daly used to be fun to watch. Drinking pop all day and smoking cigars while smacking it 300+ yards consistently.

Then don't watch. It's about them, not about you. They want to do it, and sign on the dotted line, then let them compete as they desire. Nobody is forcing you to watch.

It's never not disappointing how few people understand that consent is often the central feature of morality.

Him talking about reducing men's boxing to 2 minutes rounds is the thing that happens when you know you're wrong on your position and are doubling down.

Ok Maurico, wouldn't one minute be safer? How about no boxing at all?

He should just be a man, apologize to Serrano, and sanction the 12 3minute rds.

The best would be 1 minute round and 2 minutes time for ads

                      I don't watch women's boxing at all.

The morality thing is a bit sticky. I have moral problems myself with the entire sport of boxing as it is, watching and getting a kick out of two humans batter each other is in and of itself morally bankrupt, really.

                      But I get it.
