Joshua is praying, rosary in hand, surrounded by candles and pictures of Wilder, that Parker can pull off the upset.

Parker is a harder fight for Wilder than Joshua is - more durable.

Joshua is an excellent fighter, don't get me wrong.

In my opinion (an important one, having seen each of the following names live and in person on many occasions), Joshua still holds a place among the 10 best heavyweights produced since 1980:

      1. Larry Holmes
      2. Lennox Lewis
      3. Mike Tyson
      4. Wladimir Klitschko
      5. Tyson Fury
      6. Evander Holyfield
      7. Deontay Wilder
      8. George Foreman
      9. Vitali Klitschko
      10. Anthony Joshua

Given the 100's of thousands who have taken a shot at the prize in that time, amateur and pro; those in the top ten are rare athletes indeed.

But Wilder is a perfect trap for someone of Joshua's makeup.

Their common opponents; Breazeale, Molina, Helenius, have each offered the very same opinion as Froch, as have a great many in the community.

A.J. can continue to avoid Wilder should both win this month; but if he does, his legacy will be that of the guy with the slimmer resume than Fury, Wilder and Usyk; and as the one who never stepped up while the others all did.
I can't include Joshua among a top 10 since the 80s. I'd pick Oliver McCall, Ray Mercer, David Tua, Rid**** Bowe, and Ike Ibeabuci to knock him out. I'd pick Michael Spinks, Roy Jones, and James Toney to outpoint him. Even John Ruiz might beat him.

i dont see the fight happening, think joshua would actually give a good account of himself against fury (still would lose though) but i think he would be petrified of wilders power at this stage in his career

If Wilder sparks out Parker in devastating fashion, I don't see the bodybuilder or his promoter ever getting in the ring with the Bronze Bomber

Froch is saying what most people think, so how is that "hating"? Froch was more entertaining to watch than AJ has been in the last few years, that's for damn sure.

Ah, a refreshing, straight to the point take from a respectable former fighter. You can call it hate all you want, but it's simply a prediction that many have already said.

If Deontay could KO Joshua in one round - why did Wilder run away from Dillian Whyte for 2 solid years, and pretty much everyone else in the top-10??

We might find out in this Parker fight...

Don't buy it the one round KO. Joshua is a good boxer. He has had a poor chin his whole career. I do favor Wilder to win - because he is fast and *always* lands but it won't be easy. Especially not if there is 2 or 3 fight deal. *One* of those fights Deontay might end it quickly but not all of them and AJ hits hard too.

But why is Wilder so high in your chart? Based on what great wins? a 39 year old Ortiz is still his best win. And Ortiz was hyped up before that fight. His best win is Jennings.. Wilder hasn't even beaten anyone in the top-10 since Ortiz...

Moving on from the Whyte fight, Jermaine Franklin was 22 pounds lighter for his fight vs Joshua. 'Joshua won 95% of the rounds, and won the fight easy without getting out of 2nd gear'.

Joshua's two loses to Usyk were competitive especially the second fight 'Wilder in comparison was ****** out by Tyson Fury in their 3rd fight. ****** out by a fighter in Fury who has never been rated as a monster puncher'.

The third Wilder vs Fury fight, was skill for skill the worst fight out of the trilogy 'Both fighters were a mess, and all over the place technically. Great passion competition between Wilder and Fury, but in terms of pure boxing? It was not a high level fight'.

Anthony Joshua whether it be his two fights vs Usyk, or his two comeback fights 'Has been performing at a higher level than Wilder'.

Note: In my opinion Wilder has more to prove in his up and coming fight than Joshua 'Joshua has been here before, he has beaten the most top level fighters at Heavyweight out of the top-4 fighters during his career' etc.
Who are all these fighters who Joshua has beaten that earns him your lofty praise.

Caution: Please dont use Whyte. Too young and was a novice like Joshua was. Both would improve later. Please don't say Klitschko. He was aced by Fury and retired. Not Molina, Breazeale or Helenius; all three pick Wilder early. Parker? He's up next for Wilder. Ruiz, Usyk? Losses for Joshua.

                      Help me out here.
