  • Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis On Possibly Getting Elevated: "I Don't Want It"

Becoming a world champion is something that practically every fighter dreams of. With that salient goal in mind, they normally immure themselves in their respective gyms for years while working tirelessly on their games. Once their dreams become a reality, a sigh of relief is let out.

I like Davis's stand here an honourable way to go.

He bout that paper. championship. He knows he wants it, but either he's trying to save face so he doesn't look bad accepting a belt he refused to fight Haney for OR he wants the option to keep cherry-picking his paydays. Hard to do that with those pesky mandos.

He didn’t want to fight Lomachenko for it either.

Some people are never happy. Tank is right on this. Even a cherry is better than free.

it's not a gift. It's free as long as Tank pays for it. The email does nothing for him. He ruined Ryan, he's on a roll, hunt giants. That title doesn't make money, he does. They're trying to get Loma hurt at this point. 40 going on 50, he's gate keeping.

Truth is Davis doesn’t need a title. Champions is something you strive for to gain popularity and fame, which then leads to bigger paydays. Davis is already at the pinnacle of the sport. Why pay sanctioning fees to some of the shady org when you’re already an established star.

He has only beaten one Champion, Pedraza, that the so called face of boxing for you.

We're not talking about the face of boxing. We're talking about an organization that thinks it can take what men die for, what men get mangled for, and use it to serve themselves. Degrade a life long achievement and cheapen it to a give away. Well, it's not theirs to give away. That's why they're called e mail titles. They're BS.
