There will always be another, another, and another. They used to do it with Roy Jones, Floyd, Andre Ward, and now Canelo. They want or wanted them to lose so bad. Soon they will do it to Tank or Clarissa Shields anybody else thats the same caliber. IF Canelo beats Benavidez they will want him to fight Berterviev or Deontay Wilder next. Clowns

How has he shut up his critics?

He’s got an awful lot of loud critics still with plenty of ammunition.

He’s a 4 weight world champion, but can you really consider him a true champion at 168lbs?
Benavidez lost his belt on the scales, he never lost a fight at 168lbs.
Canelo never fought number 1 at 168lbs.
He dropped his belt rather than face GGG at 160lbs, looking at how an older GGG did against Canelo, it seems likely that Canelo would have lost.
Canelo avoided a prime Andrade at 154 and 160lbs.
In fact, you can argue Canelo has never proven himself to be the number 1 fighter in any class his fought in.
He simply avoided fighting the best in his division.
There’s an argument he’s always been number 2 or lower in whatever class he’s been ‘champion’ in. His competition has always been vocal about wanting to make the fight happen with Canelo, and Canelo swerved those fights.
Canelo is an all time runner up with a great marketing team.

What did he do? Instead of realizing that GGG is his generational rival and giving an immediate rematch after ‘18, in a bout that was seen as very close, he waits him out until GGG is clearly past his best, in his 40’s, and when Canelo needed a comeback bout after biting off more than he can chew against Bivol.
You guys like to twist narratives and sh.it it’s comical. Reason canelo refused to fight ggg and vacated wasn’t because he waited him out, it was because as mandatory to canelos wbc title per wbc rules had that fight went to purse bid, which knowing team GGG (and I don’t blame them, i think anyone in his position would do the same) they were going to refuse all negotiations and take the 55/45 split in favor of the champ and we all know damn well ggg at that time wasn’t gonna demand that type of split vs canelo. So canelo said, phuck your belt and we can revisit without the sanctioning body having anything to do with the splits. Stop the bs. And when they finally fought what happened? Ggg couldn’t do sh.it with canelo. Got exposed and look at their careers after they fought each other. Night and day, ggg was exposed

Canelo is contracted to fight under Al Haymon's banner for 2 more fights. It looks to me like Crawford or Jermall in May and Benavidez in September.

Critics don’t write them checks, just makes them fatter for the man. So keep it up. Regardless of what anyone says, facts are he had a hof career and is an atg living legend. Here for a few more fights a couple more years maybe a few, enjoy it while he here. Also, canelo has more belts then David at 68 and if that’s how you gonna take it then David hasn’t fought the number 1 guy at 68 either. Canelo is lineal, undisputed, hasn’t lost at the weight either. Being that David been at 68 his whole career but canelo has more accolades at the weight soooo what we talking about? See how easy that is? They need to fight each other and they will in September.

Claressa yes, but Tank is not in that class. He truly has to fight someone with a pulse. His best win might be Barros or maybe Ryan at a catchweight wich tells a lot.

Tank is on the Broner type of opposition, beating interim champs, B fighters at best.

Nothing like Ward, Nelo, Floyd, Shields who collected various lineal titles and unified vs full champions.

RJJ at 168lbs and Toney at heavyweight.
I understand PED use was rampant in that era and testing was uncommon and basic.

I do think Canelo’s legacy is tainted somewhat.
He has benefited from cherry picking opponents, Andrade was an outstanding amateur fighter, well respected by all the best professionals. Shame his breakout fight came aged 35 when he’d lost a step and got steamrolled by what appears to be a prime Benavidez.
Canelo jumped weight classes to avoid quality prime fighters in his divisions. He bought his title from Kovalev, who hadn’t recovered from his weight cut and fight a few weeks prior against Yarde, he waited out GGG to get old, and was gifted decisions.
Canelo one of the best of this generation. I don't like how he has been manouvered through competition. Has he fought a single elite fighter in their prime that isn't named Bivol?
RJJ-94-02=GOAT - the "elite fighter in their prime" argument again.
