    Heavyweight = 161+

& that's all, folks -- three weight classes, no nonsense

Galaxy Bros., Carbajal, Jeff Chandler, Lupe Pintor, Roman Gonzalez = bantamweights
Mayweather, JC Chavez, Bernard Hopkins, Emile Griffith, Marvin Hagler, De La Hoya = middleweights
Joe Calzaghe, Andre Ward, Kovalev, Archie Moore, Virgil Hill, Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, George Foreman = heavyweights
I love it, these old timers are insane with the 8 weight classes nonsense its been gone for like 50 years.

You can jest as much as you want but that didn't stop the WBC from making Bridgerweight or the WBA now rolling out this new Super Cruiserweight class.

This was bound to happen because of the weight disparities that's currently taking place at Heavyweight and I was one of the only few pointing that out on here.

Unfortunately for the WBA and the WBC, expanding Cruiserweight from 190 to 224 isn't going to solve the problem at Heavyweight.

All they have to do is change Heavyweight to 230 lbs and introduce a new Super Heavyweight class and set the weight limit at 260 lbs.

        Heavyweight - 230 lbs
        Super Heavyweight - 260 lbs

        Bam! Easy work.

          Thats what it should be.
If you wanted to be fair the weight divisions would be these:

          105 (StrW)
          111 (FlyW)
          118 (BW)
          125 (FW)
          132 (LW)
          140 (JWW)
          148 (WW)
          157 (MW)
          166 (SMW)
          176 (LHW)
          187 (JCW)
          198 (CW)
          210 (HW)
          210+ (SHW)

6ish % jump between weight divisions starting at 105.

Gets it down to 14 divisions that are evened out, 7 (of 14) divisions from 105 to 148 vs 11 (of 17 or 18 now ig) divisions between 105 to 147. Less lil guy divisions where there are fewer mfers & more normal size divisions where mfers are at.

This wouldn't be bad, but I'd say you bump up the lowest weight to 130 or 135 & refer to it as Lightweight. Light, Middle & Heavyweight flows better.

However you feel about boxing divisions & whats ideal or not ideal I think most mfers are in agreement there are far too many weight divisions now so going down to 3, 5, 8, 12 or 14 would all be W's for the sport over the bs they are doing these days.

I'd rather have the MMA divisions than that:
              115
              125
              135
              145

              170
              185
              205

I have no problem with it. Didn't Furry outweigh Wilfer by 40+ pounds.

I don't hate that, I just think you can do it more logical than anyone who has done it so far by having a % bump in weight that stays the same from the low weights to high weights.

Ideally I think you'd wanna divide divisions based on % apart staying the same AND how many fighters are at those weights to have every division be similar in fighters & similar in bumps up to the next division.
