Not only that but there are way too many multi division champs holding divisions up, too little talent in most divisions, pacquiaos 8 division champ is only 4 in olympic weight classes, floyd only 2 and with stacked divisions, ond is already impressive enough.
If there were less weight classes the bullying would be worst. The ranges would be wider, i.e. 176-200. A guy at the lower end of 176 would have to fight someone at 200, a 24lb disadvantage.

Most fighters don't compete in more than 2-3 weight classes throughout their career anyway and that's even only because their bodies change over time.

The addition of this new weight class can only be a good thing. Otherwise, someone 6'9 at 285lbs could keep cherry-picking guys at 6'0 and 201lbs, like some fighters we know.

Pretty soon we'll have divisions like "Super Duper Welterweight", "Jr Heavyweight+" "Ultra Bantamweight" and "Behemoth Weight"

Super MW should go up to 170lb. LHW should go to 180lb. Cruiser to 205lbs. No Bridger or Super Cruiser. And all sanctioning bodies should consider a second weigh in on the morning of the fight with a max rehdyration amount allowed tailored to the division. eg SMW might be allowed a max weight increase at the second weigh in of 10lbs. WW might be allowed a max increased 7lbs, etc.

We've got more giants nowadays so it makes sense to me. The size difference between the smallest and largest heavyweights is quite ridiculous.

Or alternatively we could just cap off HW at 265lbs, that way not fat Andy and Fury has to at least stay in okish shape but we know why they're really doing this.

A guy that's 176 shouldn't be fighting at 200 unless he doesnt wanna cut and that's on him.

Alot of people recently complained about DB being a weight bully, but he wouldn't be fighting at 168 against a blown up 154, if there was no 168, the 176 should fight at 160, the less weight divisions there are, the less pounds they can squeeze in, david cant make 160 without poorly affecting his performance. A 175 will be fighting other 175ers at 160, 200 at 175, everyone cuts around the same amount.

Either that or same day weigh ins with a limit to rehydration. Either the MMA route or the amateur boxing route, both are way better than 19 divisions and 76 champions and 76 lower grade champions.

As for heavyweights either cap it or the smaller guy less than 230 should cut to 205.

It was coming for a long time. The rest of the Banditos will fall in right behind.

                      I'm thinking maybe.....

                      175 limit
                      185
                      195
                      205
                      215
                      225
