I don't know why you're including me in that group, if you read my post I have always favored the benavidez vs canelo fight, by the way all those belts that canelo and benavidez has won, they all have been vacant belts, never from a real champ, well the ggg one, and we know ginger lost that fight. If we are talking about levels, who do you think is higher up, ryder or Morell jr?
David Morrell has been awfully quiet about Benavidez

I agreed with you, the problem is that ginger is holding the 168 div. hostage, he should fight benavidez first, what if he refuse to fight him?
And Benavidez has been the mandatory for Canelos' WBC belt for over 2 years. And now that he's beaten Andrade, the WBC is finally "officially" recognizing him as the mandatory challenger. I don't have a problem with Canelo fighting Morrell to defend his WBA belt, but Benavidez shouldn't have to fight another mandatory challenger in Morrell before challenging Alvarez for his WBC title.Comment

He hasn't though. He only got the interim belt may 2022. The one who's had a mandatory slot for two years is Morrell, not Benavidez.

So for you, an amateur that is on the fast track should have close to 400 fights to get a pass. By the way his desire is not about a PPV, it is about fighting the best, and he is already there whether you like it or not, if they fight or not is another story, he has "only" 137 fights, by 16 he won the junior World Championship and named the best boxer of the tournament, at 17 the Cuban National and by 18 the Indian Open, unlike his fellow Cuban boxers he decided to defect young with already a heck of a pedigree in the amateurs, for some fans knowing that he didn't leave his best years in the amateurs was good news, for a guy like yourself he needed more "seasoning" in the Olympics and other tournaments, maybe 200 more fights is that fair? Two hundreds more. I see that you left out the Japanese fighters and the Thai's too, you know they're a few others that like Morell jr didn't need to padded their record with useless fights. I don't know you, but I think you have been very selective when naming boxers past or present on the fast track. By contrast, Alfonso Zamora a great amateur from Mexico fought 20 times (there's a guy that he will be happy reading this) before fighting for the belt, but only eight of those fighters had a winning record and another three by only one fight over .500. So what is the point?
Lomachenko also had 397 amateur fights, and Rigondeaux had 386. Granted, Spinks had 185 amateur and 7 pro fights before he fought Ali. Morrell? He had only 137 amateur fights. The guy's trying to be fast-tracked based on what? His desire for a huge PPV after 137 amateur fights and 9 pro fights. I guess the question is, do the powers that be think he deserves a title shot?Comment

Ok, my mistake if you advocate Canelo vs Benavidez. Ryder has fought more big names than Morrell. Of course, he has lost to a lot of them.

I mirrored my response to the fighters that were used as an example. You ignored my last question, do the powers that be believe Morrell is ready for the big fights? If so, so be it.

Nobody is saying David should wait (except maybe Canelo) People are just annoyed that Canelo has two good mandatories for once and know he won't fight either of them.

Well, Benavidez has said that if Canelo won't face him he'll just beat everyone else. I'm cool with that. Then, we can officially brand Alvarez as the cherry-picking coward of the division.Comment
