I would get rid of that trainer ASAP if I were Morrell, who doesn't even need much training. Same trainer who fkd up Jermall Charlo's career. Lara has left that guy and was recently saying he's learning a lot from his new trainer.

Let's see what happens and truth be told, jermall has mental issues that has nothing to do with his trainer. I know Shields falls in the conservative side of the sport and i would have prefer someone like Salas. I was surprised when they announced Shields as the new trainer. I think if the fight gets made someone is getting knock out.

That would be a good fight if they let it happen.

Morrell only has 9 fights though. It could be a hard sell.

With the right promotion behind it, should sell. People buys crap from the internet just because they seeing everyday in their phones, or in their tv's.

Morrell got upgraded to WBA Regular champ shortly after his Dec 26, 2020 fight vs Gavronski.

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - David Morrell Jr. is a lot of things. He’s young. He’s inexperienced. He’s unproven. And he’s pretty much anonymous to any fan outside the hardcore set. But he’s something else, too. Precociously confident in his abilities. Just a few weeks past his 23rd birthday and a veteran of just four pro fights, Morrell was referring to the 168-pound weight class in the after...

            Stop spreading BS.
Oh shit! My mistake, I thought the article said 2021. I should have verified via boxrec. I have heard more than once that Benavidez has been the mandatory challenger for two years.

I'm not sure about that. The big sellers do well because of a combination of hard cores and casuals who have heard of both fighters.

In other words, if ryder were to face Morell jr (ryder already was going to face the Cuban, and he bailed out of the fight), who do you think would win?
Honestly, I can't call it, but I doubt Morrell stops him. Come to think of it, that would be an interesting fight.

The WBA mandatory is the one that hasn't been satisfied for the longest time. By rights, based on mandatory rotation, Canelo should be fighting Morrell, then the winner of the IBF eliminator, then Benavidez. The idiots in WBO said that GGG satisfied their mandatory also, which means Canelo has defended the WBO twice, and the other organizations have no interest in ordering their own fights. I figure at least one of Morrell/Shishkin/Scull/Benavidez ends up email champ sooner or later here.
The article said that, and I believed it without verifying. I should have known better. I'm not hating on Morrell, but I firmly believe that Benavidez should not be required to fight him before he fights Alvarez.

I agreed 100%, then again what to do if canelo's doesn't defend his belts against his mandatory.

As you know ryder ducked Morell jr without any shame. I believe ryder would suffer the beating of his life if he ever face him. I respect that you honestly believe it is a 50/50 fight but I think you're the only fan that have the fight that close.
