    Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce Trainer: All Heavyweights [Have Taken] a Loss; We Need to Keep Improving

    The trainer of twice-felled Joe Joyce is still optimistic that his heavyweight charge is still in the title contention mix. In a recent interview, Ismael Salas, the coach of London's Joyce, reflected on Joyce's consecutive brutal losses to China's Zhilei Zhang this past year.

    First few , I think Salas is all wrong for Joyce
    Secondly , what can possibly he improve at 38 that he’s not already tried to improve
    The saying goes , you can’t teach an old dog new tricks , it comfortably applies here
    He can be a gatekeeper at this point and a damn good one for up and comers

      As the late Jim Brady would have it, Joyce has three gears: slow, slower, and call the tow truck.

        At 38 there is really no improving. He is also way behind others now for title shots. Hrgovic, Zhang, AJ, Wallin, Wilder are all ahead of him. His only chance would be a late replacement if someone got injured.

            Zhang made adjustments to do with what? Joyce keeping his head on the line? Yeah... The only adjustment Zhang made was knocking him out sooner lol. Pathetic promoters and trainers;

              Big Jugs chin has been cracked. It'll keep cracking against top tier contenders.

                If he hasn't learned to move his head by now, he's not going to.

                The only adjustment we got from the first fight was walking in a circle, which for some reason Tim Bradley was all impressed by, but he was doing it in range. Literally set himself up for that right hook. Trainer couldn't teach him to circle a little farther out so he wasn't just right there to be hit? Zhang saw that finish coming from the first 30 seconds of the fight FFS.

                  Wilder got ktfo 2x in a row. JJ can come back if he fixes his issues

                    You can't be serious with that comparison, are you? I would love to see Joyce persevere and get some more wins, but you're comparing him to an all time great, which is simply absurd.
