You gotta beat the man to be the man
Isn’t that how the saying goes ?

Froch has fought at a higher level, there is no denying that 'But was Froch a undisputed Champion at 168 pounds? No'.

So to a certain extent Alvarez has a better resume in that sense 'But Alvarez still will not of fought at a higher level than Froch at 168 pounds if he beat Benavidez'.

Benavidez has beaten Plant and the last fighter he fought 'Pascal, Kessler, Bute'. Those three wins there are superior wins historically that Froch has on his resume better than any win that Benavidez has achieved.

Note: Benavidez is what is hot right now, people are pining and fascinating that he is the man to beat Alvarez 'But really for me? He is aggressive, he puts his punches together. Apart from that I don't think he is a elite fighter skill for skill'.

Canelo Alvarez is fighting in a under par era, that is just the fact of the situation 'All the best fighters Alvarez has fought outside of Golovkin, have all been Welter Weights' etc.

Canelo going the distance with bum Ryder and an inactive 154 pounder and old GGG is elite level?

Ya I disagree. I think Benavidez is a significantly better fighter than anyone Froch beat from a talent standpoint. Resume wise maybe not because Canelo came in the division so the big names fought Canelo instead

Those 2 are better than 90% of the fighters Calzaghe beat at 168.

As someone pointed out 168 is a extremely weak division historically

Calzaghe super middleweight resume consists of 2 fighters beaten who were ranked in the Top 5 of the division by ring at the time.

Canelo has already beaten more top 5 168 fighters
