As far as Boots chasing Crawford up to JMW, I doubt that happens because if Bud wanted to fight him he could just as easily have done so at WW and kept his IBF belt. They will never fight, so Boots needs to get busy making the next biggest fights he can.
which sucks! Because I feel Ennis has a legit chance to become a future hof and maybe even an ATG, so if they never fight, that’ll just be another what if fight. I don’t want that, but at this point, seems like their roads aren’t heading anywhere near the same direction

Bud clearly has bigger fish to fry at 154, he already unified 147 ffs so bomac is kind right when he says boots brings nothing to the table at this point of his career except an emailed title now lol. I would prefer to watch Bud vs Tszyu in aussie land for the SWW belt. Forget ESJ rematch.

Or he might be fine with 154 himself & not wanting to cut to 147 again so trying to get more money might backfire on him if Errol is like fook it lets do it at 147.
I don’t think he’s trying to gouge them. I’m sure he’s just fine with 154. But I saw the video of this interview and that’s sorta the vibe I got. Hey the contract says 147 you wanna do it at 154 throw in another 500k.

Seems like it would sorta be a missed opportunity not to ask for more.

Not only does he bring nothing to the table, he doesn't bring a gun on a plane.

Crawford has been sounding like he doesn’t want the fight at 154 for Spence but wants to call out other fighters at 154 and above.

The weight is just negotiation leverage. The first fight didn’t do that great and the second will do worse. Crawford just wants to get paid and his greatest leverage for a better split is the weight.

I think they are cool enough after making this fight that Bud respects Errol to not hustle him too much with the money esp since from all accounts Errol gave up leverage he had to make the fight, but at the end of the day business is business. So if Bud gots the say in the fight taking place at x weight, as I believe he does, its not wild to think Errol would need to "buy" the ability to insure the fights takes place at his preferred weight. So yea I agree with you.

What cracks me up is how the haters will say that TC is ducking boots but man this guy is simply honoring a contract that got him the belts in the first place. The IBF never said anything about him having to do a mandatory before he beat Spence. But almost as soon as he said that he would honor the contract they wanted to start chirping. If I was Ennis I wouldn't even want the strap.

The winner of Saturday's bout between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford will decide whether the rematch takes place at 147 or 154 pounds, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Errol Spence Jr. has reportedly activated his rematch clause for a return bout with Terence Crawford. But considering how badly Crawford beat Spence, is this a bad idea?
