And on and on it goes.
Applies mostly to the modern era american boxers

Name a better matchup for Crawford. It's the best fight that can be made at welterweight.

Bud would be favored and would likely win. Why don't his fans want to see this fight?

The more I think about it, the more it looks like Ennis' fault. He didn't sign with PBC to get any of the big names there, nor with Top Rank to chase Bud.

I recall he abandoned his WBO route when Crawford was out "on the wrong side of the street" fighting mandatories to take the IBF route, which Spence only defended once in five years. Crawford v Spence wasn't even announced until May 24, nor even signed at that point. He petitioned IBF in October '22 and didn't earn mandatory for the IBF until January. After that fight he called out Spence and the winner of Stanionis v Ortiz. Didn't call out Bud. Didn't petition the IBF to order his mandatory shot at all, even though he had 4 months before Spence v Bud even materialized. Then didn't petition the IBF to order his title shot until late August, when it was clear Spence would activate the rematch clause.

Are those the actions of a guy who really wants the big fights? I'm starting to think he likes fighting lower tier opponents and pretending he's being avoided. I think he'll probably be the next WW ruler, and he appears to be the goods, but he's got to actually do something to have a Crawford fight be worth something. He's not even a PPV guy yet. Boxing is a business, and he doesn't appear to have put any effort into fighting the kind of guys that he needed to in order to build some star power.

There isn’t one. That’s the best fight to make at WW currently. The thing is, bud may not ever fight at 47 ever again, specially if the rematch with Spence is at 54 which is almost a guarantee it will be or else he won’t hear the end of it if they make it at 47. Ennis can def campaign at 54 though so, being that he is champ at 47, he can def choose to go after any other champ at 54 if he really wants the Crawford smoke, unless his goal is to be undisputed at WW he can go that route and if that happens, we may never get bud vs boots at any weight

Crawford has earned the right to fight whoever he wants if that's the excuse that they want to use. Boots would give Crawford lots of problems if they should fight and Crawford doesn't want to get embarrassed if he should lose that fight. Boots was the #1 contender for the IBF title that Crawford used to own. What more does Boots have to do to get a damn fight with Crawford? Win or lose, after Crawford beats up Spence again, he should fight Boots.

Lewis fought Grant, Tua and lots of upcoming contenders and beat them. Ali fought Spinks. History is made up of champions fighting up and coming fighters to hear this crap from Crawford's camp. Times have changed with boxing. I bet if Boots got wobbled in a few of his fights and knocked down then Crawford would have fought him a long time ago.

Lets be honest, the IBF agreed to sanction the fight & rematch. After collecting $1.5 million in fees the IBF then decided they deserved more. One month, eighteen days later the IBF is pissed, they threaten to strip the belt unless Crawford violate his contract (The same contract the IBF agreed to) and fight a guy that beat Sergey Lipinets, Karen Chuk and Romain Villia for a $200,000.

In what parallel universe does any of this make any sense?

BYW....Lewis made $10 mil for Grant - in today's dollars that's $17 million, $8.5 mil for Tua approx $14.5 million today. Ali was paid $3.7 mil for Spinks in 1978, adjusted for inflation that's over $20 million in today's world.

I realize you are still angry because Crawford beat Spence, you're not alone. Lots of people on here talked trash for years and now like so many others you are looking for a savior, someone that can help you save face. The sad part is that no-mater what Crawford does, you and others will hate him just the same. Just sayn...

I think it could be said that both Thurman and Pacquiao would still be more historically significant fights at WW. Heck, what if Floyd wanted to come back out of retirement? I rate Ennis, but he's factually not built a big enough career yet to be in a super fight. With his rate of activity, he won't before Bud retires.

Yes it does say at 147 but it doesn’t have to be. Crawford is no longer undisputed. After the fight Crawford said that he was also having trouble making 147 and he was calling out everyone above 147.

So if the contract says 147. Why not negotiate for more money at 154?
