I don't follow the logic. Wilder's the only one being put in tough here. Pretty impressive for a guy who some casuals claim "avoids a challenge", right? I'd say it differently. I'd say that matching Wilder with the best feather that sits in A.J.s career cap, and matching Joshua with a light hitting creampuff is a means of hopefully allowing Joshua to bypass a highlight reel knockout at the quick hands of Wilder.

I think it peaked in terms of the vibe, the interest, the optimism over it around then. 2018 AJ was still the UKs darling and unbeaten, Wilder was still unbeaten and stepped up to face Ortiz in a great fight so his stock was fairly high, and then Fury was coming back too. 2019 it started falling apart with Joshua ****ting the bed against Ruiz.

Joshua is just a well publicized contender of the same era who once held a few sanctioning body belts, as many contenders do; who never received a shot at the title and even had difficulty holding onto those silly belts against underdog types.

The quality of opposition theme is a myth, and based largely on Joshua having fought retired Wlad Klitschko, Dillian Whyte.......and Joseph Parker.
