Both are decent matches. No idea where Wilder is at, yes he's still got that power in the early rounds but who knows late in the fight. Parker looked done after losing vs Joyce but fair play he's been very active and winning so has stayed in the top 10. Never been convinced he's got enough pop but he is a tough opponent for anyone and has great experience. Helenius is awkward and if it is for the IBF mandatory spot then there is some real pressure there on Joshua. Hopefully this happens and gives me summit apart from the Darts to watch at xmas

For me it's also a question of how much either guy has left. It's why I'm actually interested in the fight, more so than AJ Wallin which I think is a straightforward win for AJ
For AJ v Wallin I'm actually more interested in seeing where Wallin is at.
Feels like an odd set of fights if the aim is to build up Joshua v Wilder. Huge chance that at least one loses.

He has fought 1 round in 2 years by choice. He could have stayed active if he wanted but has chosen not to, he is just waiting out for some big last payday. He's semi retired.
Of course, this supposed Parker fight could be part of a deal that leads to an even bigger payday for him v AJ. I can think that's really the only reason Wilder would take this Parker fight at relatively short notice.
Sounds to be like the Saudis have said to AJ and Wilder they can have their bigger payday against each other, but they have to fight on this event first and in good fights.Last edited by Apollo7; 11-13-2023, 09:21 AM.

Obviously Wilder has a leveler, but I just can't see Wilder dealing with a solid fighter like Parker. Decent size, decent technique, decent toughness... he's just a decent all round fighter.
When these fights get made it usually means they know something that we don't know. Now I know Parker is diminished but they must really believe he's finished.
Parker got up from a left hook vs Whyte, that would of stopped many Heavyweights 'Not only did he get up, he then went on to almost take Whyte out of the fight'.
When Parker fought Joshua, this was still the version of Joshua who? Was more proactive when it comes to being aggressive 'Parker although he fought a really measured fight, withstood Joshua's power'.
Joyce in his best performance ever, had to pretty much throw everything at Parker to get him out of there. Parker vs Joyce is a underrated fight, and I was one of the few individuals during the aftermath who was concerned for Joyce 'Parker whacked Joyce with all of his most powerful punches, and done much more damage to Joyce than people were acknowledging or aware of. For all we know Parker may have alter the course of Joyce's career'.
Note: Parker is most likely the most powerful puncher Wilder has ever fought, best combination puncher, and skill for skill Parker's boxing ability is good enough to take rounds off Wilder 'So if Wilder is not stopping Parker in his tracks with big punchers, there is a way for Parker to win'.
Deontay Wilder is obviously the favorite, and the big challenge is always how are Wilder's opponents going to react to his power? 'That is always the biggest challenge vs Wilder his power and aggression. I don't think top level proven boxers, would prepare for Wilder being that concerned with his boxing ability' etc.

Wilder tried to fight Parker for years when he had the WBC belt.
Parker was scared to death & now has limited options.
Wilder sleeps him in the mid rounds.
Some of these comments rooted in Wilder hate are comical
There’s two men that I want so bad, and it’s Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker,” Wilder said. “I wanna unify the division so bad. That’s my ultimate goal. I don’t care about how much money it is, the buildup, this and that – that all plays a part in it. But my sole feeling is I want those belts. I wanna unify, but I don’t think these guys wanna do the same thing. They talk the talk, but they don’t wanna walk it. Especially with Joseph Parker. He came and said he wants the best and all this.
“He even came to my fight for nothing, but he really don’t want that. He is no threat at all. He’s not a dangerous fighter. He’s at the bottom of the champions that’s fighting second-tier fighters. He wanna stay out of harm’s way for as long as possible and it’s sad. But I want both of those guys, man. I want them so bad to unify this division. That’s all I wanna do is unify. And then, after that everybody can line up.” Also D.Wilder
He has been urging Parker for a unification fight for months and that has ramped up over the last fortnight as the Kiwi prepares to tackle Razvan Cojanu, with the big Romanian a late replacement for Britain's Hughie Fury who withdrew citing a back injury.
Wilder said all that months earlier knowing Hughie Fury was Parkers mandatory which was schedulled May 6th which came out March 6th 2017 . Cojanu was the late replacement .
In July 2017 Stiverne became Wilders mandatory anyway ,Wilder didn’t fight Stiverne until 9 months afterwards ,all he did was keep calling out guys even though he had his own mandatory .
Read the quotes carefully because that’s all he’s been saying from day one . Lol
The rest is history Parker got the big Joshua fight in 2018 and Wilder went after what he thought was an easier fight Ortiz , no,one ducked Wilder , no one ever has unless there would have been an option for Joshua the much bigger pay day , Ortiz is an exception he took the Wilder fight for 500K instead of a ball park area of 4/5 million to fight Joshua but Ortiz isn’t the brightest star in the skies concerning intelligence .Last edited by juggernaut666; 11-13-2023, 10:22 AM.BoxOfficer likes this.

All that 'body on the record', silly costumes, king among men, yelling bombsquad, crushing cans, ducking contenders, opponents taking dives, and pathetic excuses for losing have made Wilder a punchline looking for a joke to sell.
Parker ain't no joke and no ones buying whatever Wilder is selling.
Oilskin Parker is gonna end Bronze Bummers career!

besides, Wilder said back in February that he is a free agent, so nobody was preventing him fighting.
He's just after a last couple of Big paydays. who can blame him? He's approaching 40.
if he was interested in being an active boxer in the division, he would've fought more than once since October 2021. Its nearly 2024.JakeTheBoxer likes this.
