He can put him on his undercards, get him more exposure that way. As the IBF champ the contenders have to come to him anyway.

I love Bread but he ****s on too much about Meldrick v JCC & a lot of what says is rubbish. Meldrick v JCC is kinda similar to Floyd v Castillo. Meldrick was ahead but JCC was always doing damage with short punches to body & head. There is no way, to me, that Meldrick was more than 2 rounds ahead going into the 12th. Yes, the judges may have been bought but I wasn't. So, suppose Steele doesn't stop the fight & Meldrick takes more punishment. It is a 10-8 round, maybe even a 10-7 round. Meaning Chavez wins by a close decision or, at best for Taylor, its a draw. Meldrick was a great talent that coulda been a great fighter. He & his corner made some terrible decisions, specifically he shoulda stayed at 140 & not gone higher. He was NOT robbed v Chavez.

Taylor deserved the win vs Chavez. Anyone arguing otherwise is either clueless or biased.

IDK if I'm clueless but I don't think I'm biased. After the bout ended Meldrick went to emergency care & JCC went out on the plss. That suggests, to me, that the judges's scorecards & the commentary were maybe not reflecting what happened inside the ring?

I'm thinking when one man parties while the other is in the hospital, it's clear as day who won.Unless you're biased.

If you watched the fights, you would never use the word you just used (… suppose Steele doesn't stop the fight & Meldrick takes more punishment.) - the fight was literally ending. Less than 12 seconds remaining.
How much “more” punishment was he going to get?

To quote Breadman, how is it that the B side NEVER gets the benefit of doubt or the better decision?

                    That's ridiculous

                    You gotta be Mexican

I've never met a non-Mexican argue that it was a good stoppage

                    As Bread said

. The official scorecards going into the 12th round was 108-101 Taylor, 107-102 Taylor and 105-104 Chavez.
Even with a 10-8 round, Taylor still wins the fight.

And no, he wouldn't have taken a horrific amount of damage with 2 seconds left in the fight

Taylor was wayyy ahead on the official cards & the commentary reflected how far ahead Taylor was

Y'all know damn well that's now how fights are scored

                    Taylor outlanded Chavez 457-258

He dominated that fight and the fight was stopped with 2 seconds left BECAUSE he was dominating the fight.

Taylor wasn't a very durable fighter & as we all know JCC has a chin of granite, so "who was hurt worst" isn't really indicative of who actually won the fight.

Imagine if football or basketball were treated like boxing is, and top teams refused to play each other to protect their "0"... Boxing is a weird sport sometimes.
