OK, the D3vil. I've watched this one over & again. I love this fight. To me, it is one of the fights I turn to to remind me just how good boxing can be when you have 2 highly skilled guys at the top of their game. Ali v Frazier 1, Duran v Leonard 1, Chavez v Taylor 1, McCallum v Toney 1 & Barrera v Morales II. Those fights are the gold standard, it cannot get better than those. Every time I watch it, going into that last round, I have it Taylor 106 Chavez 104. Yes I know the judges had their heads up their respective & yes I know the American commentary was for clean sweep by the American fighter, but that didn't reflect what was happening in the ring! No, I'm not Mexican & I'm not even saying a man couldn't get screwed fighting JCC because Pernell plainly did. BUT, I don't think Meldrick was screwed over. Meldrick lost because of appalling corner work by Duva & because JCC is one of those guys that isn't beat until you tighten the last screw on the coffin lid.

        Also D3vil,

'Y'all know damn well that's not how fights are scored. Taylor outlanded Chavez 457-258'

I'm going to give you the credit for knowing boxing, in which case you know punch stats don't mean nothing at all.

so boots could be in the running for the best ever, interesting stuff from bread

crawford fans currently think he may the the GOAT so imagine if the two of them fought each other, history could be made here

usually guys who get bigged up as in contention for these accolades attract a lot of hate

Just watched it again. The commentary is so ******ly biased as to verge on ridiculous. They had MT winning every round. On my scorecard MT wins rounds 1,2,3,6,7 & 10. JCC wins 5,8,9 & 11. I made r4 a draw. That means they go into r12 with MT 106 v JCC 104 & why, in God's name, Duva doesn't tell Meldrick to run like a rabbit, only Duva will ever know.

              You gotta be Mexican

I've never met a non-Mexican argue that it was a good stoppage

              As Bread said

Even with a 10-8 round, Taylor still wins the fight.

And no, he wouldn't have taken a horrific amount of damage with 2 seconds left in the fight

Taylor was wayyy ahead on the official cards & the commentary reflected how far ahead Taylor was

Y'all know damn well that's now how fights are scored

              Taylor outlanded Chavez 457-258

He dominated that fight and the fight was stopped with 2 seconds left BECAUSE he was dominating the fight.

Taylor wasn't a very durable fighter & as we all know JCC has a chin of granite, so "who was hurt worst" isn't really indicative of who actually won the fight.

Yeah, I am in my feelings.

It's uniformly considered one of the worst moments in boxing history by Whites, Blacks, Asians, and non-Mexican Latinos
