So, in their minds that's what they did (fight nearest contender). Their current highest ranked fighter is Cody Crowley. So, hopefully, they mandate that as his next fight.
Didn't Crowley decline the eliminator against Essuman though?

Bud has made it clear he has no interest in fighting Boots.

You have examples of “live bodies” in mind?

I trust you did the same research with Spence and Crawford’s while they were both 26 years old?

Atleast Ennis didn't have to hit anyone behind the head to get the title.

Idgaf about belts like most here do, but I like that this will get more ppl trying to fight Boots with a belt on the line now.

Boots has passed the bad mfer eye test quite awhile back, but these mfers won't fight him to allow him to pass the bad mfer test in the ring so he was bound to "win" a belt like this it seems.

I honestly don't know about that. I looked at the various alphabet rankings and the WBC has Crowley as #1, but Barrios just won their "interim" belt. However the WBC doesn't list this on their website. I think they just haven't updated their rankings because Ugas is still ranked above Barrios. So, my thought now is that Crowley will hope to fight Barrios for the official WBC title once vacated by Bud. That's what I would do if I were him. Crowley is much more likely to beat Barrios, in my opinion, than Ennis. So, right now Essuman is ranked just behind Crowley, so maybe he fights Ennis?

Crawford shouldn’t give dam. He already made history by winning the undisputed in the first place. They (IBF) can take the title status and stick up their ass. The rematch is at 54
