Andre Berto was a poor man's Meldrick Taylor/Adrien Broner type fighter but he had good amateur credentials so he made out well.

I picked Mosley KO especially coming off that Margarito win where he looked unbelievable. Mosley was P4P #3 back then people forget that, despite being passed his best days.
Mosley had him HURT early. You could hear the excitement in the arena when that right hand landed, must’ve been a good atmosphere.

He sort of blew his load in those first few rounds though and then Mayweather completely took over.

Yeah it was crazy. I knew Mosley would be dangerous early, kind of expected him to land some big punches. The roof felt like it was going to come off when Mosley landed that 2nd big shot the one that really rocked him.

Was a really good event though, had that huge fight feel at the time.

Berto was a just a belt holder. Same as Senchenko, Zaveck etc.
I'm talking about potential mayweather opponents in 2011.

Senchenko and zavek weren't on that level. it was only Pacquiao and berto.

Berto was supposed to be Floyd's September opponent. But ortiz had the night of his life

Berto was never a top 2 guy at 147. He was clearly behind Mayweather and Pacquiao.

He was maybe #3 at best and even that is debatable.

This is the fight the people have been clamoring for - a fight for the people, by the people. It's a relief to see boxing finally making the fights fans want.
