Why does everyone act like AJ has a glass jaw but Fury doesn't?

Just because one has a blemish on his record? Which if we are being objective about the other could easily have several more and several by stoppage.

    Pajkic
    Cunningham
    Ngannou
    Wilder dropped him four times
He was real badly hurt by Firtha & Wallin and stunned in various other fights - Chisora 1, McDermott 1 to name a few.

Yet no mention of a bad chin and high praise for his defence.

No such thing as iron jaw in this punching bag division. Even the so-called iron-jaw Jaggernaut got exposed by a 40 yr old Zhang.

      It's a fair point...

That being said, AJ got stopped and Fury hasn't yet. I think AJ has a fair amount of Dubois-quitter in him. Really gets into his head and lets it get the best of him. Fury also got up after being flattened by Deontay Wilder 4 times and nobody else who has faced Wilder has ever managed that. Can't really have a glass chin and get up repeatedly from the biggest puncher in the modern era.

AJ gets hurt and stays hurt.

Fury gets up and recovers well and goes on to win fights.

That's how you judge who can take a shot well. Many fighters can be dropped, doesn't mean you have a bad chin, sometimes a shot lands and the direction or force of the shot means the only place your balance can take you is towards the floor. It's can be just as much to do with the body mechanics as being hurt. If they were hurt, it would be very noticeable as they got up.

The likes of Fury and Juan Manuel Marquez could get dropped on multiple occasions, but you never saw them on ***** street for minutes or a few rounds like many fighters are, including AJ multiple times, and one where he got stopped.

Even Froch who is known for his chin was dropped by Groves and Taylor, but he recovered well. It's simply the nature of some shots and the body mechanics may mean you go down.

It doesn't really mean anything unless you get up and you are still in trouble.

Fury and AJ got caught with the same exact punch behind the ear. AJ never recovered from that. Fury was able to get back and win the fight. That is the difference.

Fury is like chewing gum. You can drop him, but nobody hurt him so far.

Larry Holmes is a prime example.

AJ’s heart is a bigger problem than his chin.

Fury survived being knocked down by Wilder multiple times, and recovered extremely well from it every time. I just cant picture AJ doing that.

Recovery time is why. I've mentioned this before. Fury gets dropped constantly but he gets up immediately like Juan Manuel Marquez. AJ Gets dropped and his legs are gone for three rounds like Devin Haney against Linares.
