I've seen him vs numerous southpaws with no issues, I've seen De Los Santos vs one and he hit the deck and was caught a lot in exchanges and think he has issues with pure boxers. He has skills but his power & combination punching, his offense masques some pretty bad defensive habits.

My gut instinct is De Los Santos might be a bit of a glass canon also, he can give it but can he take it? He was dropped hard by a fighter not really renowned for their power and has been hurt/buzzed often in his short career, I've also heard gym stories that he is chinny. Only gym stories but there is often a good element of truth behind them.

I really hope to be wrong and we get to see just how good Shakur is when he doesn't have it all his own way. I suppose its at least a step up I mean De Los Santos has power and will certainly try let his hands go which is more than I can say for most of Shakurs opposition at this stage.
That’s pretty how I view Shakur too. A very good technician with good defense, but there’s not much special effects to his game in terms of raw athleticism. He’s not much of a trickster like Floyd was. As you said, He has bad defensive habits in terms of repeatable patterns and another skilled counter-puncher will pick up on that and capitalize. I think Shakur will easily beat Haney, but he might have his hands full with Tank. I think a fight between Shakur and Tank is 50/50, Shakur can outbox him to a UD, but Tank is explosive enough with enough dynamites in both hands to test Shakur’s chin and his body.

Sure, sure... We'll see. Resume your insults when the fight is over. One week left to go. Can't wait.

His name wasn't on anyones lips until he called out Shakur now I am seeing a lot of people talking up his chances and actually favouring him. A real surprising amount.

It was only last year that he gassed out and lost, he was dropped hard vs Venezuela (a southpaw) I think in his next fight.
He's dangerous - In the sense he a southpaw, can punch, I thought he looked a bit sharper in his last fight and wasn't as defensively irresponsible as I have seen him. He's not a bad fighter or anything but I'm not really seeing what he has that really poses a big threat or makes me feel he's a live underdog outside of the typical punchers chance which is too often very overplayed. I don't want to say he is tailor-made for but I'm just seeing a rather routine win, in fact I think Shakur might stop him if he reverts back to his usual reckless ways and starts overreaching and leaving his chin out to dry.
Amazing how fans watch the same fights, yet see them differently.

I'd be glad to bet $100, but I'll never know how to send/receive $$$ securely, and worry about some guvment interference and legalities.

Anyways, I've posted a moderate middle-ground approach. See #27, page 3 of this thread.

At the very least, he's got enough power that if he can land, we'll have a more educated look at how Shakur handles adversity, which would be relevant for a Tank fight.

Yeah, I'd like to see that ****iness gets dampen even just a little bit.

Wouldn't be bad to see sparks fly in this fight. But it seemed far-fetched.
Shak got more Valenzuela type fights, than De Los Santos, if you're being honest.

Shakur and Haney reminded me of a young Kobe vs T-Mac. T-Mac(Shakur) was naturally more athletic, fluid/smooth, but injuries and lack of hunger derailed his career. Kobe(Haney) put in the work, stay dedicated and disciplined to his craft in order to achieve his goal(already the youngest undisputed champ in the 4 belt era).

In terms of resume, Haney has a better career as of right now. Say what you want about Haney, but he’s always in shape and has already fought better competition than, Shakur. There’s just something about Shakur that I can’t pinpoint what it is, but he just doesn’t seem to have the same type of drive of wanting to prove himself regardless of how much he talks about wanting to fight everyone or everyone ducking him, etc.

Head-to-head, I think Shakur will beat Haney if/when they fight, but it might comes down to who wants it more, who wants to have their name mentioned with the other ATGs, and I just feel like Haney being less skilled and talented will work 10x harder to gain an edge and can possibly pull off the upset with the right game plan.

I can't disagree with that. What Shakie did to Herring is brutal. Not hard to see that again in this fight.
