I think a lot of fans are overrating this fight.
Purposely overrating Edwin and his chances so they can throw tons of praise on Shakur and act like its some great win.

Not me bro. To me Stevenson just popped out of thin air getting massively overrated by Andre Ward the first time I saw him fight. I kept waiting for a worthy guy that would take off that shine. It was tiring to see him in showcase fights after another. At least, that's how I saw it. In the end, I blamed Arum for it.
But thanks for telling it how you see it. And it's obvious you don't see anything in De Los Santos. Meaning, you see a mismatched fight.
His name wasn't on anyones lips until he called out Shakur now I am seeing a lot of people talking up his chances and actually favouring him. A real surprising amount.
It was only last year that he gassed out and lost, he was dropped hard vs Venezuela (a southpaw) I think in his next fight.
He's dangerous - In the sense he a southpaw, can punch, I thought he looked a bit sharper in his last fight and wasn't as defensively irresponsible as I have seen him. He's not a bad fighter or anything but I'm not really seeing what he has that really poses a big threat or makes me feel he's a live underdog outside of the typical punchers chance which is too often very overplayed. I don't want to say he is tailor-made for but I'm just seeing a rather routine win, in fact I think Shakur might stop him if he reverts back to his usual reckless ways and starts overreaching and leaving his chin out to dry.
And now I'm not sure which one of us is overrating Stevenson. I say he's not a monster, you say he is and Santos is not good enough for you as an opponent.
Like I suggested in my previous post, I'm not a huge fan of Shakur and you think I made this thread so that when he wins, he gets massively credited. That's not my purpose, believe it or not.
You made your prediction, I made mine. Good part is, it's not a fantasy fight. The outcome would eventually surface.
Any other poster man enough to make a prediction in this fight? Isn't this essence of being a fan? Being able to come forward and let everyone know how you see fights, then have a prediction on how certain fights would play out?
I think Stevenson wins a competitive bout on points, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has to be stunned and recover on the way there. De Los Santos is quick and hits hard.
I don't think Shakur is a monster just a good technical, skilled southpaw albeit largely unproven and badly overhyped considering the level of opposition. More of an eye-test fighter at this stage.
He is more talented and fundamentally sound, experienced and his defense is a little tighter plus I like him stylistically.
I've seen him vs numerous southpaws with no issues, I've seen De Los Santos vs one and he hit the deck and was caught a lot in exchanges and think he has issues with pure boxers. He has skills but his power & combination punching, his offense masques some pretty bad defensive habits.
My gut instinct is De Los Santos might be a bit of a glass canon also, he can give it but can he take it? He was dropped hard by a fighter not really renowned for their power and has been hurt/buzzed often in his short career, I've also heard gym stories that he is chinny. Only gym stories but there is often a good element of truth behind them.
I really hope to be wrong and we get to see just how good Shakur is when he doesn't have it all his own way. I suppose its at least a step up I mean De Los Santos has power and will certainly try let his hands go which is more than I can say for most of Shakurs opposition at this stage.
