    Stanionis/Thurman = both are inactive
    Mayweather/Mikey Garcia = old/retired/inactive
    Lara/Danny Garcia = inactive
    Benavidez/Andrade = active
    Matias/Ergashev = inactive
    Jermall/Benavidez Jr. = inactive

Not only are these fighters inactive and need fight dates, but many of them demand a high 6-figure purse minimum. SHO simply cannot afford the costs, so the decision is made to put it on PPV and force the consumer to subsidize the fighters' purses. The consumers ultimately suffer the consequences.

If Amazon has any knowledgeable boxing fans, they may be concerned about having a long-term agreement with PBC.
Mayweather is not fighting Mikey Garcia. Are you serious?

If Floyd really wanted a big pay day, he'd rematch Pacquiao.

Why do either when he just keep banking millions on one-sided beat downs?

I said what's being rumored. However, it wouldn't surprise me if SHO tried to involve Floyd in their last telecast in an exhibition. Let's assume that Floyd has nothing to do with 12/9....is the main event Thurman/Stanionis then, with Lara/Garcia the co-main?

37 years and the send-off is a couple of guys saying farewell soon themselves. The only people paying to watch this will be the families of the fighters.

Like Showtime Espinoza already stated, PPV is a tool to make fights happen. Fights that can't otherwise be made easily.
The reason is straightforward, there's nothing complicated about it. Fighters, managers, promoters want money Showtime can't afford.
Showtime would rather do it on regular cable, but the guarantee is too low for fighters to accept. Having it on PPV gives them
accountability like contributing to the promotion, and bear responsibilty for the outcome of the fight.
In short, they can get their extra money if the fight sells, they won't if it didn't.

Which fight? The winner of the Thurman vs Stanionis fight isn't retiring any time soon.

That is a good fight actually. I would like Stanionis to fight somebody else, for example Crowley or Ennis, but Thurman beat Barrios who is somehow top 10 contender, so it is ok.

PBC has a massive stable and most of the fighters were inactive and looks like it was due to Showtime pulling away from boxing.

It's unfortunate that Keith didn't take a tune up or two before this fight , he needs more than a little WD-40 and a wire brush to knock that rust off. This should be a good fight. Based on the last few years I don't see it going well for Keith but you never know. If he starts that speaking in third person crap again then I hope that he gets beat up . Otherwise I'm rooting for Keith for nostalgias sake and because he's a reader like I am.
