If both Shakur and Navaratte win, that's next. They both have a tough challenge ahead.

Navarrete might be a better challenge for Shakur--younger than Loma.

Loma is in Adrien Broner-lite mode. He has to carefully select his opponents these days, to keep his career going. Another loss at the top will turn Loma into a stepping stone opponent, going forward. Stevenson is too risky of an opponent, and most likely a sure loss for Loma.

Loma is not ready to commit career suicide just yet.

Loma hasn't fought again, so it's not like he's ducking Shakur for someone else. Also, it isn't surprising that the smaller/aging fighter is being very careful with his next move, because it may be his last. Loma was competitive against two young guns in Ortiz/Haney, but he's gonna slip eventually. I think Shakur just needs to stay active, kicking ass and cleaning LW up. In the event that he doesn't get Loma, there's still Kambosos/Muratalla/Martin/Zepeda. It would also be a good look for Shakur if he can face Giovanni Cabrera, who arguably beat Isaac Cruz.

If Loma is being offered what Shakur says he is...then the fight will probably happen. People were saying Loma ducked Haney, but it happened while the match-up was still meaningful. Loma has been pretty consistent in terms of his quality of opposition.

Also have to factor in that Loma beat Haney and should have the belts right now. He was blatantly robbed, everyone knows it including Haney and his dad. So at this point Loma may well retire, as he knows everyone is gunning for him, while he is dealing with injury after injury, and even if beats Shakur, as another poster said, the fix is likely in for Shakur, who has been deemed the next star.

Sometimes the $$$ is too good to pass up. I don't think everyone is gunning for Loma, only Stevenson. I think most are gunning for Davis because he's perceived as the cash-cow. If Loma indeed returns, it'll be because he's still motivated, with the $$$ being a bonus. Loma isn't come in half-stepping against Shakur because he'll get embarrassed.

Everyone wants Loma now because he is a big name and obviously on the decline. Most people know that he fought Lopez one handed and that he beat Haney. He still has a big fanbase.

Loma was an old man when he turned pro. He was undefeated for one fight. Hes starting to lose regularly. He's a blown up feather who stayed too long in the amateurs. Shakur needs to raise his sights to be great.
