Not facing a star like Canelo doesn't mean his resume lacks.
It just means people need to brush up on who is who.
Joe Smith is a former champ.
Marcus Browne was a hot talent at one point.
The Nail had a p4p worthy run when they fought.
His resume may lack name recognition,

Beterbiev has never been signed to Matchroom. He fought Callum Johnson in a co-promotion with them and his then Montreal promoter, Yvon Michel. He then signed with Top Rank ever since, under which he’s unified three belts and raised his profile considerably.
If there is anything standing in the way of Beterbiev vs Bivol, it is Arum’s disdain for Eddie Hearn. I used to think it was petty but watching the way Hearn managed to set fire to billions by overbidding and over paying fighters, all of which abandoned him after cashing out, I can understand why a veteran HOF promoter like Arum would be pissed.
Probably Bivol will finish out his contract with Matchroom and jump ship to Top Rank and we’ll get that fight.
