European is incredibly generous. Tommy will never even sniff a challenge at the British title, let alone win it. Maybe one of the northern area titles…?
Hughie, as awful to watch as he is, would’ve had a chance to pick up a euro title at one point. Not sure what kind of level he is these days.
yeah, Hughie is on another planet to Tommy.
Hughie isn't bad at all, it's taken solid world level fighters to beat him. He's clearly kind of euro level that can hang with B level fighters that are world level. There's no shame in that, it's actually very respectable when you consider there's 1400 active heavyweights. Hughie when active would beat Wardley and Adelaye, who are in a British title fight next.
Tommy on the other hand has found his level. Tough scraps with YouTubers that have been training for about 3 or 4 years.
No way the two can be talked about in same breath.
Mad how much money Tommy is making really. Like he says 'there is only one Tyson Fury.'
I mean he definitely won. It is still boxing and if you are watching a sh.itshow like that you have to give it to the guy who is trying to box.
But he's got to abandon fighting pro fighters for area titles even. Just seems dangerous on that showing and he doesn't have to any way.
Tommy always looked so stiff and even at that level he was worried about the speed so wouldnt step in with his jab with any confidence. It is like he knows how to box because of his family but he has no real remarkable talent for it. The only thing he does consistently well is knowing instinctively when he is out of range and won't buy feints. You can tell he's spent a lot of time in boxing rings but it is hard to see him improving.
I'd defo just stick the youtubers.
Only a fool would try and prove something in pro boxing now. Getting pummelled for peanuts for an area title. Never gonna happen now.
I agree
He's cracked it with what he's doing now. deep down he probably knows this is his level and his family know it too and probably say it. but I guess his gimmick in this whole influencer boxing scene is that he is the fury and the pro boxer, so he has to kind of keep up the image that he is the pro boxer and wants to continue in the real boxing ranks because that's a selling point in these events, but he's probably never going to do it again because why would he?
yeah like you said he has no real outstanding qualities for boxing, he just knows enough because he's been around it for so long. he's probably quite a good sparring partner in a way, someone who knows his way around the ring enough to give decent enough work to a more conventional boxer. He's probably half decent in the gym in that role.
A problem with him fighting someone like ksi is that these guys are unconventional and Tommy isn't really good enough to truly punish them for it like a pretty good fighter would, so it ends up looking scrappy and awful to watch.
I bet if you put him in with someone conventional, he would look better, Like when he had that exhibition with Rolly Lambert. He is actually a decent enough pro and Tommy could look better against someone like that because they'll box with him.
He should ride this youtube boxing game as long as he can and then just try to become a media personality or something
I didn’t watch but did skim the highlights. Tommy looked really good in there. Fast, crisp jabs, excellent usage of distance and footwork and endless counters. And KSI was no slouch. His inside game is unequaled. Close fight, but Tommy scoring that last second knockdown sealed the deal. I think he’s ready for a shot at the CW championship title. Tommy vs Badou next, please!
Meanwhile, I refuse to watch the Tszyu vs Mendoza circus because all they’re going to do is clinch and start riots.

There will be far, far better boxers than Tommy that never get near British title fights.
But he could. His profile will get him opportunities and he can be developed into someone that competes at that level. He can get the right trainers, he can get the right fights along the way to develop him. He doesn't need to do anything the really hard way - winning proper match ups to earn some recognition and status.
Or he can make more money fighting non boxers. Honestly, it's probably his better opportunity and you can't really begrudge him doing it. But he'll need to be more entertaining if he wants to convince people to spend PPV money again.
If he goes down the proper boxing route I'll respect that given he's got the easier and more lucrative alternative.

I mean it was close. 57-57 (3-2-1), 57-56x2 (4-2).
Personally I had it 3-3/57-56 KSI with the pt taken winning it, but I did think all 3 rds I gave KSI were very close & wouldn't have any trouble saying someone could have given them all to Tommy let alone one of them. So it felt more like Tommy probably won one of those 3rds to swipe the dec like he did despite my card.
All that KSI guy did was jump around and hold. He landed one shot in the first round that mattered. I wish I could be a black guy and just literally do nothing and have millions of dollars. They sure have it bad.
This isn’t the place for you to dwell on your misery. Take the whining about your pathetic life to a therapist.
