Comments Thread For: Tommy Fury Edges KSI By Majority Decision in Lackluster Fight

Originally posted by W1LL View PostSpot on lad, can't argue with that. I had it 4-2 Tommy, but gave KSI a debatable round. Frustrating fight to watch, Tommy has zero inside the game. Shocking really considering he's Tyson's half-brother. How the fook does he spar with Tyson with nothing on the inside? His arms seem too long for his body, all elbows and grabbing, his left hook is so telegraphed and looping, horrible. Very limited fighter, but fair play to him earning a bit of coin.
.
to be fair whenever I've seen any footage of them sparring it's just a bit of light body sparring like you "throw one, I throw one" kind of thing...there's not really much else going on. I don't think it's actually benefiting anybody apart from, just light exercise.
I don't think it actually helps that John Fury is his trainer too, he has literally no training experience and it looks like Tommy Fury has actually gone backwards since John Fury took over
early in his career he didn't look great and wasn't fighting anyone good, as most people dont then, but he actually used his jab pretty well and had pretty decent feet and distance control, which all seems to have disappeared. That's when he was trained by Hatton, before he went on reality TV etc. Not that Tommy was ever going to be a world beta but he actually has some natural gifts that could have made him effective like his reach and jab and things like that, but everything seems to have regressed.
John Fury and his ego and love for the limelight has gone out of control though and I don't think he wants anybody else to train Tommy because he wants to be part of all of this.

Hughie, as awful to watch as he is, would’ve had a chance to pick up a euro title at one point. Not sure what kind of level he is these days.

Mad how much money Tommy is making really. Like he says 'there is only one Tyson Fury.'
I mean he definitely won. It is still boxing and if you are watching a sh.itshow like that you have to give it to the guy who is trying to box.
But he's got to abandon fighting pro fighters for area titles even. Just seems dangerous on that showing and he doesn't have to any way.
Tommy always looked so stiff and even at that level he was worried about the speed so wouldnt step in with his jab with any confidence. It is like he knows how to box because of his family but he has no real remarkable talent for it. The only thing he does consistently well is knowing instinctively when he is out of range and won't buy feints. You can tell he's spent a lot of time in boxing rings but it is hard to see him improving.
I'd defo just stick the youtubers.
Only a fool would try and prove something in pro boxing now. Getting pummelled for peanuts for an area title. Never gonna happen now.Last edited by Sparked_26; 10-14-2023, 06:57 PM.
