Why are you mentioning Shakur. He's been coming forward and pressuring lately. Straight power shots non stop. Sounds like you're just trying to find an excuse on why certain fighters are better than your favorite fighters.

Haven't seen a single ref that enforces the rules when it comes to holding. It's definitely a skill to hone if you are a boxer.

If somebody outpoints his opponent , winning every or almost every round, than it isn`t running.

Joshua didn`t run in Ruiz rematch, he won every round.

"Running" is, what Charlo did in Canelo fight. Running means that somebody just tries to survive, without even making some effort in the fight.

          Absolutely

Haney is one the worst culprits, he just wants to hug and wants to engage as little as possible.

Shakur Is more like a young Floyd, not exactly but in the sense they move when necessary but still plenty of emphasis on landing shots and putting shots together.

Haney is awful viewing at times. He's looks more to hold than land and he's young. Just imagine the holding he's gonna do when he's a bit older and his feet are a little slower.

To be fair to Andrade, he does look to put some nice shots together at times, especially early in fights but then he seems to abandon it as the fight goes on. That's what frustrates me about him, he has has excellent shot selection at times and very sharp with them, and showcases it early. As soon as he gets a bit of resistance, he abandons the offensive skills he's capable of.

Haneys first thought is always to hold.

They don't need to change anything. I'll just never tune in. To each their own. I know there are purists out there that love pitty pat shots and not getting hit back. Cool.

Crawford has slickness, I would say? He is the only top level African American boxer with slickness.

Within this era, there seems to be a lack of top level slick boxers overall in all divisions.

Slickness is predominately a style mostly associated with African American fighters within the modern era 'Italian American's were also fighters who holistically were associated with slickness, along with Latino fighters. But the slickness is most evidence and strongest within the African American fighting culture'.

Devin Haney for me is not a slick fighter 'He is just a technical boxer'.

Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Floyd Mayweather Junior, Roy Jones Junior 'These were fighters with slickness' etc.

I have a theory highspeed internet really changed styles of fighters, there are a lot of soviets now that are pretty slick and I think they get that watching US fighters and with the internet from a young age. Pirog, Loma, Usyk, Bivol, ect these guys are a lot more slick than klitschko from the older soviet era.

in the 1980's and before haney would have gotten disqualified for his tactics. It's illegal to put your head down to your opponents crotch. It's illegal to hold multiple times each rd with underhooks. The refs in today's era don't enforce the rules.

It's amazing how dumb and racist some bscene posters are after all these years. Some of you still don't understand the sport of boxing.

The sweet science literally means HIT WITHOUT GETTING HIT.

Holding is the most problematic of all illegal tactics employed by many fighters. Unfortunately, it has become normal in every fight. It's okay if the fighter is about to fall on the canvas, but holding every damn 10 secs without being warned can no longer be considered a fight. Fans in the audience need to do something about it by booing, throwing paper rocks in the ring or something. You can't do anything about running and surviving.
