I agree with you for once. Asking for a 70-30 split is just flat out ducking the fight by pricing yourself out.

Wilder and Ruiz have the same problem. They haven`t done much with their careers since losing to Fury/Joshua.

Ruiz did it a little better with the win over Ortiz.

They are irrelevant now and they will stay irrelevant if they don`t do something. They must fight each other.

I guess Hrgovic, Zhang and other guys are fine with them staying inactive.

If Wilder was serious he would have offered a 60/40 firm split. Nobody could back Ruiz at that offer if he turned it down. 30% is not enough considering Wilder is not some superstar. He is famous for losing to Fury and recently fighting his sparring partner.

Ruiz seems to lack ambition. Why not fight this year? Why wait until 2024?

Wilder is bigger star than Ruiz, he became World Champion quite by accident and did nothing to prove that he deserve belts, Wilder was real WC.

            They're both >12 months inactive.

They should both be removed from the WBC rankings.

How long do you think the WBC will keep them at 1 & 2?

Consequences of Inactivity. The following circumstances may permit exclusion from the WBC ratings, as follows:

            (A) A rated boxer who does not compete in 9 months will be subject to being lowered in the rankings.

            (B) A rated boxer who does not compete in 12 months will be subject to being removed from the ratings absent special circumstances.

There is one big problem. The WBC is not a creditable organization. They mandated a Wilder Ruiz fight on November 9, 2022.

                IF the fight ever happens.

Its such a big IF that theres no point even ****ing saying it because you probably wont have to back it up.

Situation is so ****ty. They're the two most accomplished and biggest name American HWs of their era, and Wilder especially is close to the end of his career. Neither of them have much to lose and its a pretty big fight that would get them both a nice payday. Theres no real reason for the fight to not happen, or have happened already, and yet here we are with the typical drama over getting fights made.
