Ngannou has 12 KOs in 20 MMA fights. He's not some massive KO artist.

And look who he has knocked out, 5 or so of his best wins have a literal 60 or something knockout losses between them.

Going into his last MMA fight he was on 5 fight KO streak that consisted of less than 10 minutes worth of total combined fight time. That includes three KOs in under a minute, and another in under two minutes. Most of these opponents were top 10 ranked also.

The guy is the biggest puncher in the history of MMA, and it isnt close. Not that its likely to matter much in this scenario anyway. In boxing his power probably just translates to him being any other big puncher rather than the biggest hitter ever. Also when he fought Gane (who is probably the most evasive and technical striker in HW MMA history) his power was shut down because he couldnt land like usual, Fury should be able to do the same without much trouble.

... Within about 30 seconds everyone watching will realise that the guy can't box. He'll look awkward and won't land anything.

That's how non-boxers look in the ring with boxers. It's all relative - he can probably look half decent shadow boxing. But put him in the ring with a boxer and he'll look ridiculous.
