The biggest one is against hagler but you guys cant differentiate being a whiny dive and actually compensating.
Ray wanted a bigger ring and haggler didnt. Ray threw some extra money to balance it out and hagler agreed.
Meanwhile froid whined the day off the fight against maidana about the gloves. Did froid give him extra money or did he whine about it and have his way?

Yes he did, but he fought every name available. The Pryor rumors are BS, I don't know about Mcallum though, and that era I followed to the fullest and I never heard anything about Ray vs Mike.
It's worth nothing he pretty much did arrive at 160 when Hagler was retiring, Duran was washed up by then Leonard and Hearns were pretty much on the decline even though they continued fighting. Leonard was also retired for 3 years when McCallum was the man at 154.
Who is to say if they would have ignored his presence if they were younger and fresher, but it's pretty clear they knew to leave him alone when they weren't the fighters they once were.

From 1981 to 1984 Leonard has only two fights, he had the eye injury and then retired, and fought Hagler in 1987. The timeline doesn't match for Leonard ducking Mike.
Calls them all out after this fight, classic boxing match.

I don't agree with the people naming Ray Leonard.
The thread is specifically asking about fights falling apart because of the split. Leonard may have been selective about when he took certain fights, but that's not the same thing. He gave Hagler and Duran (2nd fight) a bigger share of the split in order to get those fights. That's literally the opposite of killing a fight with purse demands. He was the biggest star in boxing but let others have the lion's share because he was smart enough to see the bigger picture.

Yeah before my time but if you watch all the documentaries the build up to SRL-Hagler, the public wanted that fight for years before it actually happend. SRL ducked and dodged the possibility of fighting him in interviews going back before he hurt his eye.
I heard people say WInky-DLH didnt happen because winky asked for too much, idk how true that is I dont remember hearing much about it at the time.
