I don't think it's any worse than post-Calzaghe Lacy... or a fat version of Sheika.

        Good tune-up.

Hopefully both him and Roy get past they're fights in december and have the rematch finally.

            WTF?
You guys are missing the point completely. It's a TUNEUP FIGHT for jones. If he doesn't take a fight before Jones, that's 15 months of inactivity. This fight is simply to shake the ring rust, nothing more.

Cotto & Pavlik can fight absolute bums between fights. hopkins hasn't had a tune up fight since pre-Oscar.

Plus you don't want to fight someone too good as he could risk injury, cut, etc. which would jeopardize the Jones fight.

Besides, it's better than Peter Manfredo!

His last tune up was Robbert Allen about 6 years ago, and even that was a mandatory title defense.

                good point.

I think the fight is a good choice for Hopkins as it is low risk and will shake off his ring rust.

I don't think that would even count as a tune up since he was forced to fight Allen against his wishes.

Hopkins doesn't need to be tested at this point, he needs a fight to stay in fighting shape and too shake the ring rust off. Guys like this, no namers & no hopers, are exactly what he needs.

All those guys you mentioned, Adamek, Cloud, etc. those are tests at age 45 even if you think Hopkins beats them and there is a risk involved in all of those fights. Those are big dudes that can **** (at least adamek and cloud).

I don't see a problem with the fight although the opponent is a journeyman at best.

If this is on PPV I hope they put on a really good undercard and make the PPV cheap~.
