  • While Cloud is a top 4 LHW I really think a fight with Hopkins would look like a tune up for Hopkins.

    • I suppose he's going to get Ornelas to move up to light heavyweight?

No way Hopkins would fight a cruiserweight or light heavyweight as a warm-up. It HAS to be someone from a smaller weight division.

This is a perfect example of why Roy Jones is a greater fighter than Bernard the *****.

Jones is fighting a light heavyweight/cruiserweight in a foreign country, B-Hop is fighting a middleweight in the US.

I hate his bitchy ways of doing things.

If he fought Cloud, that would be respectable. Or one of the cruiserweights like G. Jones or Cunningham...

Roy Jones is fighting a cruserweight. Why does B-Hop need to NEARLY ALWAYS always fight people from smaller weight divisions?

There isn't a manager with a fighter who has any career momentum going that would be ****** enough to sacrifice his fighter to Bernard Hopkins for 75-100 grand when a 250K minimum title shot may be only 6 months away.

For a fight like this the only people who will accept a small purse to get their ass kicked by Hopkins are going to be people that have long passed their best days in boxing.

              • At least Hopkins isn't going after the IBO title and then calling it a title shot like Roy Jones is though.

                  • Hopkins vs Ornelas on 12/2: Bernard's Tuneup Set

According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, Bernard Hopkins will face Enrique Ornelas (29-5, 19KOs). Schaefer told the Los Angeles Times that Hopkins-Ornelas will take place on December 2 in Philadelphia, Bernard's hometown. The fight is a tuneup to prepare for an early 2010 rematch with Roy Jones Jr. The two veterans reached an agreement two weeks ago for a rematch of their 1993 bout, which Jones won by decision. Jones fights on the same day in Australia against IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green. Both Jones and Hopkins would have to win for the rematch to move forward. [details]
