Damn, Canelo already tanked DAZN and now Showtime is getting out of the game. Boxing sure could use another Floyd Mayweather right now. Just saying.

Floyd resonated with the hip hop crowd- younger and black fans. When he retired, alot of those fans left. That hurt the sport.

The loss of white fans to MMA hurt boxing even more.
Also think Olympics de emphasizing boxing hurt the fan base.

I am not sure that Canelo can bring either group of those fans back.

The sport needs another Floyd, I agree. I think the sport needs a McGregor and a return to Olympic hierarchy more than that.

could boots not be the next big star? if crawford fought him and boots did somehow win surely he would then be the next big thing, isnt how that works at times, older guy close to retirement fights new and upcoming guy, having said that if bud is going for the canelo bag i can understand that one, the risk reward ratio also needs to be considered i guess as well, some guys are willing to take risks and others not so much

Weren't you people going on about Stank being the face of boxing? How Crawford is a star? Why aren't they "saving" boxing? LOL you dumbasses are delusional.

****** f.ucking Al Hymen is responsible for killing both HBO boxing and now Showtime. Canelo had nothing to do with Showtime's departure. Protecting Black Cherrypickers is what's killing the sport, all them were too worried about protecting their precious undefeated records that they never took any risks and never made any meaningful fights.

What killed showtime boxing was PBC fighters were to concern trying to protect their undefeated record. Not fighting the best! Notice how when they started fighting non PBC fighters they got their @$$ kicked. Fulton, charlo, wilder, to name a few. Y’all are not fans of the sport just a fan of a company/promoter. Pathetic ****ing loser.

Floyd created a generation of fighters who are so afraid of losing that zero in the loss column they cherry pick their way through the rankings and into big fights. Slick PR teams help hype up a mismatched opponent, demonstrating a "lifestyle" to lure in the casuals who are fans of fighters for what they appear to represent rather than their abilities. Floyd set the sport back decades. Never fought an elite level fighter at their best, had USADA and NSAC in his back pocket, and a media-publicity team to make him popular with the casual fan base.

Dude please. A rapper talking about Mayweather doesn’t mean what I posted was false.

At this point you’re just trolling me.
