It is similar to the way some people obsess over politics.

It is a certain type of man, and demographic who really enjoys being fans of promoters.

Myself personally? I have no real issue with promoters, I understand they do a job 'And that is it'.

I will very rarely bother getting involved in heavy debates regarding promoters.

On the real Warren, Hearn, Arum they will out compete and have 'Out competed their fighters over the long term'.

People seem to think Hearn will be done after Joshua retires 'Joshua is 1 client of his, that is it'. Joshua is not Champion now, and Hearn overall is still functioning.

Frank Warren has promoted by far bigger and greater fighters than Tyson Fury in the past 'That is the reality of the situation'.

Note: I don't actually think it is a bad thing in the game. I suppose it just adds more depth and interest for certain boxing fans 'If they like to obsess over promoters and the business side of the sport, then that will be their thing' etc.

Simping for promoters is dumb as **** especially considering a lot of times they are the ones stopping fights happening/causing issues they all have huge egos and would sell their nan for 10 bucks i don't trust any of them.

This one’s easy . It happened when Wilder became champion and ONLY when Joshua stole his spotlight after his win over Klitchko with a U. K promoter where the anti Hearn agenda surfaced which created the NEW promoter fan base . All the Wilder channels on you tube were in full force and we know why . But besides that the other promotions also got more involved , I didn’t even know who Warren was bf until I even saw Hearn around 2013 and that’s because I never paid attention to promoters before .

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing you learn a great deal about the boxing business unlike yesterday’s non social media outlets . It’s just another outlet where fanboys can cry about this or that guy ,there’s also less room fir promoters to be sneaky and are often caught with lies they incriminate themselves with on camera…via Warren accidentally mentioned when he said BT was funding the Joshua vs Wilder fight and that was deliberately in violation to Joshua’s Sky contract , he sabotaged it at least once in or after the DAZN offer I can’t remember ?

As far as I remember, no one "supported" promoters. They all seemed to be universally despised and just tolerated as a necessary evil. Warren, King and Arum all got regularly panned as conmen and liars.

At some point, this began to change. With new players entering the market (Oscar, Eddie, Haymon), fans began to become emotionally invested. Arguments began springing up on forums and social media about who was "winning" and is more righteous. In the UK, a subset of fans is very invested in the Warren - Hearn rivalry (just read the comment sections under YouTube videos featuring either of them for examples).

These people are so locked into these cults they assume everyone else is, so if you challenge them you're simply accused of being part of the rival faction. I find the Warren fanboys particularly perplexing given how appallingly this man has behaved over the years.

When did this begin and why?
The cultists are the ones that irrationally hate on PBC for reasons we all know.

All of the sudden, people took sides against Haymon. They made up lies. Blamed him for HBO going out of boxing. Held him and his fighters to different standards. Claimed he was bad for the sport and ruining it.

All that was because Haymon guides Floyd to the cash cow spot. Utterly ridiculous.

You're onto something with this, definitely some crossover with men who think there's a huge conspiracy being orchestrated in the world which explains why they're failing in life whilst listening to conspiracist charlatans on YouTube. "I've read about three books my entire life, but at least I'm not a sheep like everyone else, I've got Alex Jones and David Icke telling me what to think."

That doesn't explain the Warren - Hearn thing in the UK. Any thoughts on that?

Maybe in the US but it doesn't explain the Warren - Hearn thing in the UK. Any thoughts on that situation?

It's bound to happen, whether you like it or not. Just seeing that Sauerland character with his dentured smirky smile sitting beside Eubank Jr. always makes me think this guy must be a scam artist taking advantage of fans' baser instincts. I'm not even a Brit.

Idk about the UK scene but it seems to have started during the Top Rank vs Golden Boy Cold war and the schism with the PBC. Social media escalated it.
