TBH I'd almost rather Casimero NOT get the payday. He's hugely overrated, and a jerk to boot. Would probably miss weight or get caught doing drugs anyways and the fight would get cancelled last minute.

Like him personally or not, an Inoue-Casimero fighting for undisputed would've been sooo much more meaningful and likely entertaining.

And now it will be undisputed Inoue vs no-belt Casimero...which isn't as meaningful.
Personally, I think Casimero is incredibly overrated. He showed a negative ring IQ and the inability to cut off the ring against Rigo. I think Inoue destroys him in 4 or less.

John Riel Casimero will make his debut in Japan by taking on former IBF super bantamweight champion Yukinori Oguni will be set on October 12, 2023, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan."

It is all an assumption, but my guts says that Casimero signing a three-match deal with a relatively new promotion company (but operated by a former Japanese champion) at this timing of his career, then after fighting in his homecoming (match 1), agreed to fight as the main bout in Tokyo next week against a Japanese boxer (match 2), gives me this feeling of a spring time match with Inoue for match 3...
You could very well be right. Oguni never met his potential, but he doesn't suck. He could surprise Casimero. I see that fight is on a card with Inoue's brother.

That Inoue on that undercard card isn't Naoya Inoue's brother, but an unrelated boxer named Takeshi Inoue. Inoue is a pretty common last name in Japan, and Naoya's actual younger brother (Takuma Inoue) is going to be facing Jerwin Ancajas for his first defense of the WBO bantamweight belt (the one of four Naoya vacated earlier this year) on November 15th in Tokyo. There is another boxer named Koki Inoue as well who is the cousin of Naoya and Takuma.

Also, the reason I want Inoue Casimero isn't because I think it will be a good fight as in a close, exciting fight, but in fact the opposite. I want to see Inoue destroy Casimero to oblivion in like 3 rounds just to his ego crumpled and his youtube fans cry in despair lol.

I thought it said Takuma Inoue. I know Takeshi isn't related, I guess I just saw the T and my brain filled in the rest. I'm one of the Japanese Boxing nerds on this site. Looks like you and I will probably have a lot of conversations on here lol.

And that's the only reason I'd want the fight too. End all the ****** "scared turtle" ****. The fact that Sean Gibbons has been calling Inoue that pisses me off incredibly. You're a ****ing promoter, not a fighter, it's not your place to make those comments. The highlight of his career was fighting Mickey Rourke to a ****ing draw/

EDIT - I wasn't aware of Koki Inoue. Does Shingo train him aswell?

Well, looks like it the Inoue-Tapales fight is going to be Tuesday December 26th (yay Boxing Day) in Japan per the news sources. A quick googling showed that the three most likely venues (Ariake Arena, Yokohama Arena, Saitama Super Arena) has no events listed on their schedule for the 25th/26th time slots, so it could realistically be any of them...I wonder what the undercards are going to be, I bet most will be Japanese only match-ups but the last Fulton-Inoue match managed to have Robeisy's belt defense, so I wonder if they can manage to get another interesting one.

PS, late response but Koki Inoue is NOT trained by Shingo.

Also, Bob Arum said something interesting, that Inoue was interested in fighting in US next year. Given the opponents he listed after Tapales that he wanted to fight before going up to feather weight were Casimero, Nery, and MJ, hmmm...

December 26th, undisputed in Super Bantam. Calls out on Casimero (who signed with a relatively new Japanese promoter recently and fighting in Tokyo next week).
Spring 2024, his victory round undisputed defense against Casimero in Tokyo for the Japanese fans.
Summer 2024, revenge for Yamanaka on Nery (banned fighting in Japan) in the US?
Fall/Winter 2024, final match at 122 against MJ just to answer the "what if Tapales didn't luck out against MJ to get the belts?" question and officially clean out the division.
Early 2025, go up to featherweight.

                At least I can dream.
