Stop being greedy and relying on others. Just make the fight yourself. It'll do terrific at Wembley or Vegas and everyone will earn well. Not to the Saudi scale but still lots. Push the WBC to make it for the mandatory and it'll have more value.

Either Skills Challenge, who Hearn has worked with in the past, intended to fund an AJ/Wilder fight but were denied the funds by somebody higher up the Saudi food chain than them, or Eddie had the wool pulled over his eyes by somebody else. The first explanation seems more likely to me.Comment

I think that Turki guy is the one they have to go to for the money in the end and he's the one that didn't give them the money.
He's the one that's being dealing with the Fury v Usyk and he's top dog for sports there, he gets the final say on what money is spent on in terms of sports in Saudi.
Even so, considering it had been surprisedly being negotiated for months, you would think they had been given some assurance that it could go ahead. Even Turki dismissed it was happening in a press conference.
Sadly that fight probably isn't happening next now. Presumably even if an offer comes in from elsewhere, it won't be for the money they thought they were getting from Saudi. Even if it's still more money than they could make elsewhere right now, it's still a hard pill to swallow when you are expecting a certain amount and now you're not, it might be hard to get both fighters back on board for it.
Still hope happens though. Hopefully somebody comes through with a offer they can't refuse.Comment

So on the strength of fighting Wilder , which was obviously never a goer . Hearn kept his fighter , coming off arguably the best performance of his career (Uysk 2) on the sidelines fighting two nobodies and now says he's back to square one ? This kid had a lucky break signing Joshua with his dads money but with this and the ridiculous Conor Benn situation he has never looked so amateurish in how he's dealing with his business. He should look no further than Queensbury for some advice and come off social media where he thinks it's cool to swear, play the big shot and slag other fighters and promoters ...he's a real mess ! ....If I was a ref. I'd stop this!Comment

Sounds like Hearn wants to squeeze as much juice outta the lemon before putting him in with Wilder.Comment

A couple of months back, Simon Jordan at Talksport said he had inside info that AJ/Wilder was definitely happening, and he wouldn't have got that info from Hearn. Those two hate each other's guts.
I reckon what happened was that Fury and Ngannou wanted to fight each other and the Saudis bought into that idea and decided to run with it instead of AJ/Wilder. During the build up to Tommy Fury/Jake Paul, Tyson Fury put out a tweet - which he quickly deleted - about some game changing news, and thanked the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. Turki is Bin Salman's money man. Do the math!Last edited by kafkod; 10-02-2023, 08:38 AM.Comment

Hearn should try and do business with Frank who has control over Zhang , he and Joshua have amateur history and Zhang is riding a wave .A victory over Zhang would put Joshua in the running instead of relying on Edward to tell everyone who Joshua 'would' beat ! A loss would save him from another demolition job , this time by Wilder.Comment

This is no longer a big stadium fight in the Uk, Aj can no longer fill an arena at home because even the casuals here know who the top 2 heavyweights are & are fed up with Eddie's marrinating & lies. Vegas are welcome to it.Comment
