A significant factor in Zhang looking so good in the fight and KO'ing Joyce is that Joyce had no offensive plan of his own. He came out scared and was trying to avoid a punch. However, that meant that Zhang had nothing to worry about which gave him even more confidence to be more aggressive which made things worse for Joyce.

If any fighter comes out more aggressive, with some movement, and a counter shot, Zhang will respect him a lot more than he did Joyce. So him KO'ing Joyce doesn't automatically make him some monster who steamrolls the entire division.
