The irony of a casual dismissing being called a casual bc the fighter he favored was outdone in every category and lost the fight. Even more irony in editing your original comment to not look even more like a NPC. It’s funny you casuals wanna throw around the word gift decision with hrgovic, but don’t mention a word about zhang getting a gifted draw with Jerry Forrest. You sound like those clowns who think Anderson is the next heavyweight champion, and not the next Seth Mitchell.

Joyce was always fools gold. He is tough but never a great fighter. This fight actually made me immediately respect Hrgovic more. Zhang hit Hrg with some huge shots and he never stopped, that was a damn close fight but I thought Zhang won by a round or two. But he dropped Joyce like a sack of potatoes. Hrg had Zhang buzzed and went 12.
At this point I am interested to see Fury Zhang. I think Zhang ko's Usyk and also likely beats Wilder.

Pressure fighters are too often thought of untrained brutes blessed with a great engine. One quickly can see that to succeed as a pressure fighter takes a lot of intelligence, the ability to find a way to move your opponent backwards, and nullify their power... It is not such an easy road to success if one does not have a good command of boxing technical skills.
I tend to think that a minimum requirement for pressure fighters would be an intimate knowledge of distance and positioning. You need both to be able to cut off a ring, and the best pressure fighters IMO take positional advantages to nullify counterpunching so they can get their offense off without getting hit. If they get hit, that just gives their opponents confidence, and pressure fighters often win mentally.
I actually think of Loma as a type of pressure fighter, because the constant feints and altering of cadence, shot power, etc would keep his opponents guessing and they would have to be mentally switched on the whole time. Very much a mental pressure fighter.
Chocolatito is another great example. One of the best educated volume punchers maybe ever, with great underrated footwork and angles. Just a fascinating guy to watch fight.

People can talk about Wilder not being very good. which may be true. But he fought Fury. Joyce showed up laid down and said where's my money. Which does nothing for Zhang. I think Wilder is the only one who has enough balls to fight Zhang. may be wrong about that.Comment

if Wilder took that punch, he might get his wish and finally catch a bodyComment

Usyk will find ways to hit and not get hit
He moves to much for Zhang and he needs stationary opponents so he can let off the Big ****
Hmmmm , and if im not mistaken , I’ve just described Wilder
Mr stationary will look for his one punch and if Zhang ****s from the start , he gonna hurt him
Zhang ****s pretty fughin hard compared to Fury
My prediction , he ****s out WilderComment

Zhang only has a two inch reach advantage over Usyk. I thought it would be more. He'd be at a 3" disadvantage against Wilder. (Usyk 78, Zhang 80, Wilder 83)
Usyk may have more trouble than you think with Zhang though, just because he's southpaw. It's way harder to get the same angles against a closed stance opponent. And while Zhang doesn't have fast feet, he's got very fast hands for a guy that big, and he doesn't telegraph much. Because he's got slow feet, he's got very underrated body defenses. I think he does clip Usyk and then we find out how good Usyk's chin is. I think Zhang and Wilder are probably the most dangerous opponents for Usyk, at least partly because Fury isn't ever going to fight any of them.
Wilder v Zhang would be a pretty good heavyweight shootout. I'd like to watch it. Both have tons of power and questionable gas tanks. Wilder carries his power all the way, and Zhang doesn't seem to.Comment
