Pavlik didn't expose it and neither will Jones but Hopkins doesn't have that kind of stamina any more. I realized it when I saw him breathing hard against Winky Wright. I was stunned.

That's where you're wrong, though -- I rarely even bother posting in Calzaghe discussions nowadays, maybe I'll make a few posts, but that's all.

Nobody made a claim that only a 200+lb guy could beat him. I said it'd take a cruiser or heavyweight to keep him on the canvas, I didn't write the word "beat" anywhere. Stop exaggerating.

No LHW would KO him now, I agree with you, but he can be beat.

You're so delusional. It's cute. Here's what you wrote:
I don't believe anyone at SMW or LH could knock Calzaghe out. It'd take a heavyweight or maybe a cruiser to keep him on the canvas.

I always said the same thing -- if you can't knock Joe out, you ain't winning. Period.
          See that? There's your claim.

A lot of people seem sure that they know how Calzaghe can be beaten but i'm fucked if there's a fighter out there who can put it into practice.

There's certainly a way, as the 43yr old Hopkins proved but it's by no means easy. Would've been nce if Joe had ended his career with something more meaningful but Money May ain't the only one out to get the green. I would've loved Dawson-Calzaghe or the Hopkins rematch.

Come on man, Calzaghe is a great fighter, but I do not like when people blow it out of proportion. Other than a faded Hopkins he really has not faced anyone that could beat him.

It's the undefeated record. It just makes people say and believe really, really ****** things.

                    • I do like the way blatantly more than in most threads be they discussing the matter of him facing Pavlik, Dawson, Roy, Glenn or anyone, his age certainly comes up loads again, plus the exaggerations of how past prime he is.

The thing is Hopkins has developed in his career to have immensely good defensive, tactical skills, he's very wily, has good game plans, is experienced in what he has to do to pull off the win at any extent. In some ways whilst his activity rate and some sides may have declined, I think some of said area's have actually grown incredibly astute and some better which are better weapons for styling up against Calzaghe.

His best shot was in his later career when he was less aggressive as Calzaghe would have preferred as Hopkins coming at him years ago. Is Hopkins likely to land harder and more flush shots on Calzaghes chin than Kessler? Hardly, even if he did he wouldn't get the KO. And I'm afraid due to the styles he'd always lose on activity rate, speed, and not being able to bulleye his man like he has in many fights.

It's unfortunate sometimes people find it so hard to believe a loss didn't happene by chance but because it's the most likely option regardless. Because I honestly feel this is one of those match ups where that's the case.

Btw, I still have a prime Roy over Calzaghe.
