"His fans"? No, I was the one who said it'd take a cruiser or a heavyweight to put him down and keep him on the canvas. As hes never been kept on the canvas at SMW or light heavy for more than a few seconds, I think I have a good point right here.

You don't. Hopkins and Jones aren't big punchers yet both managed to do it. One could argue then that it can be done by a big puncher at 175.

Whether you think he won or lost, that was the first time I saw someone out-MAN Bernard Hopkins. End of story. Didn't score the fight but I had him the loser in a close one. A rematch would've been nice.

Actually no. I think I am the ONLY Hopkins fan who gives Joe credit, but Joe was never considered past it, and put on his best performance against Kessler a few months prior to Hopkins. Like Hopkins Calzaghe entered his peak in his 30s. Lets not compare 36 o 43. You do know that a 35 Hopkins was afair bit different from the 44 year old version.

It'd be a very clear UD 2nd time around.

Calzaghe wouldn't need to spend the usual 4 rounds adapting and losing a few rounds.

He's sussed Hopkins style, how to handle his tactics and would not fair as poorly for him as he did last time around.

So all in all, he'd win a clear UD and I think that's undeniably the most likely.

Hopkins simply is not busy enough to defeat Calzaghe. They're a poor style match up for each other but Calzaghe gets it because he's got a tough chin, doesn't run too much, adapts well, throws loads of punches, and unlike Taylor doesn't tire late on. To the contrary, he gets better.

It was a hard fight to watch and score but after watching it again my opinion is that it was FAIRLY close but with calzaghe winning by 2 or so rounds, hopkins did not do enough to win that fight and his tactics were a bit embarassing at times. He badly lost his way in the middle rounds and finished poorly as well.

So Hopkins a 1D guy who doesn't adapt to opponents? It depends on how you score rounds really, if you like workrate and flurried albeit if they land or not then you give it to Calzaghe.

Hopkins had the perfect plan in place. He neutralised Calzaghe more then Czalghe neutralised him IMO but he was 43 years old. Going 12 rounds with Calzaghe is a mission in itself, never mind beating him.
