One is doing a great job with muay thai in recent times. Its such a hard to follow sport usually and they've been giving it a platform and making it more accessible.

As far as kickboxing goes, I ****ing loved it back in the 90s/00s when K1 was doing well. I saw that reboot event a few weeks ago where they tried to do a HW GP for the first time in ages but sadly the talent just isnt there now, hopefully things will pick up again over time.

Don't know why some insist that boxing will die. It always depends on the popularity of what are the active fighters. There are always the core fans that support the sport and the stars that bring others to watch.

First off all UFC is irrelevant outside like two fighters, get Dana's **** up your mouth. Second, this new generation is extremely. You got Tank, Teo, Shakur, Garcia, etc. Then we got the veterans like Bivol, Loma, Charlo, Spence, and Crawford doing their thing. But most importantly, we've had a great year of boxing with more to come. Boxing pushed UFC's **** in this year. But we still got idiots whining about the state of boxing.

The biggest fight commercially was between Tank and Garcia, two fighters in their 20’s.

            Relax, boxing will be fine.

I don't even understand what boxing being dead looks like. Are ppl saying there is no boxing at all? There is no boxing on TV/apps/whatever to watch? Are there no big money fights? Like whats it look like for boxing to be dead.

HBO getting out of boxing makes it really hard, if not impossible, to create new mainstream stars.
Buikding up guys on Saturday night HBO fights for them a lot of exposure so they could then translate that to PPV level fights.
Now these young guys are talked about in boxing circles but not much outside of that.
Guys like Tank, Crawford etc.. would have been much bigger stars in the HBO era.

Boxing goes through cycles and eras. I have been watching since the Sugar Ray Leonard era. Then it was the Tyson era, Chavez era, ODLH era, etc.

There are some lows until a star emerges that intrigues the masses. We had two superstars at the same time in Pac and Floyd which I can see new fans get used to that and when it is not there no more they think that the sport is dying or dead.

This is the Canelo era and if Garcia would had beaten Davis he would had been skyrocketed to the top.

Its just different now & boxers ain't hip to it quite yet. Look at Tank. He won the biggest PPV fight of the year. I think he's a bonafide star now, if anyone disagreed he wasn't already, & he got popular through social media largely. Thats what got Ryan as popular as he is too. Devin hustled that game a lot early too. Its just a different game now & a lot of ppl in boxing are, as always, slow to adapt.

Mike Tyson got his name out there at the start as a young pro by his team sending out VHS tapes of his fights iirc. There is always a way you just gotta think outside the box. This is a new era of social media engagement. If you are a boxer who wants to be a star & you ain't got a YT, tiktok, IG, twitter, FB, etc & so on idk if you are reallllllllly trying to become a star these days.
