Boxing might actually legit die this time

After Canelo and Fury leave then what?

the stars have been getting of lower and lower luminosity since Ali. Floyd may have been the dagger through the heart of boxing.

boxing has been declared dead many times but it never at any point in its history had a very similar and more important rival in the UFC to compete with

Floyd with Pac as a support act carried boxings popularity for almost a decade, providing some of the biggest PPV numbers and live gates ever in the sport. Like him or not as a person and a fighter, he was a massive star.

Anyway, the forecast seemed more bleak around the mid 00s if anything, imo. That gap of a few years where it was before Floyd and Pac really blew up but the 90s stars were retiring or getting too old to be relevant. And that was when the UFC was really starting to gain steam too. Could have easily concluded back then that boxing would be ****ed within a decade. Something always comes along to capture peoples interest eventually.

OMFG! All you people talk about on this forum is how Mayweather "killed boxing". If Mayweather did kill boxing then please tell me why all the highest PPV's include him? He certainly didn't buy all of the tickets or give them a way. If Floyd, killed boxing then he's not the only one to blame. Those millions of people who bought his PPV's also need to take blame as well.

Anyways, boxing isn't going to die and if it does then good. Boxing fans, Promoters, and sanctioning bodies don't respect the sport. We blind fanboys running around talking about how they're guy is the A-Side and that's why he's P4P and why he shouldn't fight tough competition or that they should chase "big money fights". Promoters blatantly holding up certain fights and not willing to work with one another for the greater good to energize the sport and recapture interest. Sanctioning bodies playing favorites with certain promotional companies and the cash cow, allowing them to do whatever they want with no consequences. Not to mention ignoring steroid usage and acting like it's not a big deal.

The real sport of Boxing died along time ago the moment "fans" became lapdogs for promoters and justifying ducking. Right now we're just dealing with it's corpse.

If boxing dies I'm assuming that means there won't be as much money, there'll be fewer PPV opportunities for fighters, they'll have to make money by fighting big fights, and they'll go back to fighting where the fans pay to watch them rather than the middle east.

If Boxing "dies" it might the best thing for us as fans.

Granted, I don't want to see boxers paid less, but it's an unfortunate reality that while money makes fights, inflated money destroys more fights than it makes.

Lol yeah if it "died" wouldnt that mean literally nobody competes in it, no events, nobody watching or buying tickets. Seems a bit hyperbolic. Even ****ing kickboxing still exists so no way could boxing "die".
