I just noticed sometime about Francis Ngannou, Fury's next 0-0 opponent.

The Saudi's will pay for it and the MMA fans backing their man are suckers. The fight itself is a joke.

I do not think he will beat Usky, AJ, Hrgovic or the 40 year old Zhang now. Maybe he would beat Ruiz...maybe. Much depends on the shapes.
LOL, AJ?? Damaged goods that has no heart in it no more. Usyk?? Way too small but a good fighter for cruiser weight or slow heavies. Zhang?? Good size and a sneaky left hand. Too EASY to beat for Fury cause he’s ONE DIMENSIONAL.
Hyrg is good but hasn’t fought elite enough to give me a clear picture. Personally I think he hasn’t enough EXPERIENCE to beat Fury.

MMA fights can be fought on the ground for large periods of the fight. You're not just punching, it's much harder to get in range to land punches when someone is kicking your legs or taking you to the floor.

If Ngannou had a straight stand up fight in MMA without kicks, he would have more KO's but the nature of that sport means you have way less time and opportunity to be in a position to only throw punches, unlike boxing.

That said, he has no chance against a real boxer, unless Fury carries him.

The truth is its barely worth analysing, it's 2 big names having a dance around in Saudi for big money. Its an event, not a real fight. It'll go the way they decided. If it's already been determined it's just an exhibition with no knockouts, then Fury will just carry him and treat it like light sparring with a few combinations here and there for the crowd. If they're gonna box/fight for real, then Fury does what he wants with him.
I don't know about that. Fury and Del Boy are friends, but he beat the brakes off him in their last fight. Why would he take it easy on Ngannou?

None past 2? Arent MMA fights only 3 rounds of 5 minutes?

It's a garbage fight, but that's an odd thing to nitpick lol

Some of you should try shadowboxing for 3 mins vs 5 mins, with sprawls and a huge guy lying on top of you for big chunks of that 5. You can simulate that just a little by putting a heavy bag on top of yourself and trying to work your offense from the ground on the bag. Might be a little illuminating with respect to your thoughts about gas tanks. Apples aren't oranges no matter how much you talk about how they're both fruit, and two extra mins is a LONG time with a big man trying to take your head off.

You didn't seriously think Fury was going to fight somebody who'd be in any real danger to hurt him, did you?

I can't dismiss it as "business of boxing" nonsense when it's really just cherry-picking and freezing out more deserving opponents. The sanctioning bodies are to blame for allowing this to happen. Make it an exhibition and there's no harm, no foul.
There's no belt on the line except the special belt Sulaiman is giving them.

He has no mando so he doesn't have to fight anyone at all so he's not freezing anyone out. The cherry picking thing I wouldn't disagree with, but we see that all the time at all levels anyway. It's part of the game. And sometimes cherry picking can go wrong.

I don't see any harm now. JCC & James Toney used to have bs fights in between belt fights all the time. I'd argue it's the same difference here. As long as the state/country commission will sanction it (& look we all know some of some groups will ok a fight of any caliber) then it's a legit pro fight. Boxing has no one to blame for these sort of fights but itself & its not on the boxers to not hustle the game they are in too.

Fury played that fight safe. Why would he risk getting chinned by Ngannou?

Fury got the stoppage against Chisora. I wouldn't say he played it safe so much as he didn't go completely balls to the wall against his friend. He did beat him up, though. How he approaches Francis, depends on how sharp he is. Ngannou is an inexperienced boxer, so if he over-commits and leaves himself open, maybe Tyson attacks him.

                    And Fury's imaginary lineal title.
