Not that he has any experience boxing. Nope. He doesn't not have a high KO % in MMA either. He has but 12 ko's in 20 fights. Just 60%. And most of those Ko's happened early. None past round two, meaning he's only dangerous for two rounds. He is also 37. Tyson Fury loves to fight old men. And box guys who are past their prime. And skilled boxers. He's got a trifecta.

Translation, Ngannou's puncher's chance in MMA fights last two rounds, that is it. Even in his prime, which isn't even in. He won't be able to box or stand with the grotesquely out of shape Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury's fight against Francis Ngannou takes place next month, with the hard-hitting pair set to do battle in Saudi Arabia

Fury is earning 50 million to fight Ngannou

Any boxer would do exactly the same, given the opportunity.

He's getting paid by the Saudis.

Fury is earning 50 million, Francis is earning 10 million.

Ngannou is obv in deep vs Tyson.

As to your theory with the rds, rem MMA rds are 5mins not 3mins so I'm sure his ability to be dangerous might last a rd or two longer between less long rds & more breaks.

But you're comparing apples to oranges

MMA fights can be fought on the ground for large periods of the fight. You're not just punching, it's much harder to get in range to land punches when someone is kicking your legs or taking you to the floor.

If Ngannou had a straight stand up fight in MMA without kicks, he would have more KO's but the nature of that sport means you have way less time and opportunity to be in a position to only throw punches, unlike boxing.

That said, he has no chance against a real boxer, unless Fury carries him.

The truth is its barely worth analysing, it's 2 big names having a dance around in Saudi for big money. Its an event, not a real fight. It'll go the way they decided. If it's already been determined it's just an exhibition with no knockouts, then Fury will just carry him and treat it like light sparring with a few combinations here and there for the crowd. If they're gonna box/fight for real, then Fury does what he wants with him.

Interesting, lots of opinions. Could you name me boxers you think could whip Fury?

There is absolutely no questioning his KO power in MMA. He is hands down the biggest puncher in the history of that sport. At one point he KO'd 5 top 10 ranked opponents in less than 10 minutes combined, four of them in under 3 mins combined.

As far as how it translates to boxing? I dont know. I think hes probably a big puncher in boxing too but I dont know how his power compares to Wilder, AJ etc. It is also true that he has a suspect gas tank, is no spring chicken and has had surgery in recent times also.

I Agree. Except for the part about exhibition & pre determined outcome.

No question, it's a real fight. "Here's what you can do, here's what you can't do (like any combat sport); everlasting wealth for the winner; bring what you got".

The smart money says the better prepared fighter is the one who's labored years strictly to tailor his strengths dialed into the rules they'll be fighting under.

                    That's sensible.

That didn't work out for Tim Sylvia, a former UFC champion KOd by Ray Mercer though. And that is the intrigue of this collision.
Mercer - Silvia was called "Brigging Rights".
This time the house rules belong to the boxer.

The hook for this event, if I may; is that Tyson Fury, while obviously a gifted boxer, is at times a silly thinker. An erratic personality; and if he comes in belly swinging, laughing and playing.........

Tim Sylvia was a x2 UFC champion.
He was universally regarded as one of the 10 best MMA Heavyweights ever at the time he fought old, shabby Ray Mercer, and his only losses were to other members of the all-time 10 best. He'd beaten the ADCC champion and had one of the highest number of wins of any UFC HWCs; and his last words to the mic before being lead to the slaughter against Mercer proclaimed "He doesn't want to come into my world. He doesn't want that. But a fight is a fight".

Take heed, Gypsy King. Take heed!

Don't sleep on the UFC's king of the sluggers!!!!!!
