No one is saying Usyk isn't a draw. He's just not as big of a draw as Tyson. Usyk gots most of his numbers being the B side to AJ, Bellew & Del Boy. EVERYONE gets sexy numbers fighting AJ (has over 36M PPV buys total). And Bellew (had 2 1M PPV buy fights before Usyk) & Del Boy are popular draws themselves. AJ's the biggest name in UK boxing & one of the biggest draws in PPV history.Love the guys who think Usyk isn't a draw, and Fury is. Fury only did 40K buys v Chisora. Usyk v Chisora did 300K. Usyk got 500K+ v Bellew. 700K, 1.2 million v AJ. Anyone who thinks Usyk isn't a draw isn't actually looking at the facts, because the data clearly shows he is, and that Fury's stock is all but gone.
Also its worth noting all of Usyk's numbers are from UK PPV which is usually 1/3ish the price of US PPV's. Half of Tyson's buys are from US PPV's so he's generated muuuuuuuch more revenue. Granted Tyson was a B side to Wilder, but Wilder isn't as big as AJ so Tyson helped give those 3 fights those numbers more than Usyk helped make those AJ numbers.Comment

Does the Lineage still work if the fighter got caught using PEDS for the fight and didn't re-match clean?I love the idea of a "Unification of the title".
All sports thrive on the easy identification of their greatest superstars and events; none more so than individual sports.
The ever growing number of self appointed "Title Sanctioning bodies", who essentially sell their wares to promotors for profit in order to add importance to their fight cards, and who serve no other purpose beyond this; have gradually stolen clarity from the fans in all of the capped weight divisions.
At Heavyweight however, the value of unification is very much diminished; because at the open weight, we have a clearly defined, meticulously recorded, fully empirical Liniage showing the champion as the man who beat the man, dating back to the ancient Greeks.
Any fissures or challenges to the order were quickly and universally closed across the millenia; retaining the undisputed title line intact.
Unification of the paper crowns, while nifty; is not really nessisary. Or important. Except, perhaps, to the promotion of an event.
Just as significant, is that any such unification of the belts would be very unlikely to last out the following year, as the rotation among the Orgs for who gets to sanction (and profit from) each title fight that would follow, will work against the best interests of the "Alphabet banditos" and their individual generation of revenue.
The WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO, WBU, etc, exist purely to make money through influence over casual fans who don't know any better and largely don't care.
If a perfect playoff bracket featuring Fury, Wilder, Usyk, Joshua, Ruiz, Zhang, Joyce and Hrgovic were to crown a single beltholder; the euphoria would last mere months, only until the first unjustified title stripping.
Sadly indeed, "Tile belt Unification" is an act of chasing phantoms. And no more.
Luckily, we've got only one champion at Heavyweight, and his name, regardless of who agrees, is Tyson Fury.

fury vs ngannou is gonna is awful non competitive and boring there will not be another market for fury vs ufc guys again. Time and time again people get tricked over the image of boxing vs ufc and it turns out to be crap. There is plenty of bread for usyk vs fury but I dont blame fury for dismissing it cause he trying to promote this get over nonsense. matter of fact usyk vs fury will bigger after fury embarrasses ngannou cause fans will be demanding better comp.Comment

I have reasons to believe Fury’s family are behind some of the replies in this thread
also im happy to see that people remember Fury was caught using peds and retired from boxing to avoid rematch with Klit.
man is disgrace to the sport and only crazy hardcore brits are still backing him, though with every Furys interview numbers are reducingComment

They are all at it. Joshua only recently said 'it's all about money , that pot of gold' hence he and Wilder hung around the Saudi's for over a year talking about a mega money fight that certainly looks done as far as the Saudi's are concerned . I went a white collar boxing show recently (had to ,a mates lad having his first contest) and the venue was at least four times busier than when they had a really competitive night of professional boxing just a few months before at the same venue! The white collar guys and girls were embarrassing and none could fight a jot! ...none!
I hate the fact that Fury isn't interested in fighting Usyk and hope his cross over fight bombs, doesn't sell or go down well ...trouble is it probably will be a box office success.
I hate the fact that the Saudi's are running this with their silly money but hope that they come up with the the 'pot of gold' that now seems required to get the two best heavyweights in the world in the same ring.

Yep there’s always THAT guy on here in the first pg .
I knew I wouldn’t have to go far until I saw a lamo include Joshua in this garbage . How much did Fury offer to help Joyce 100K or so to spar ? Anyone who supports this guy or tries to deflect isn’t a real boxing fan so ? Do the math .You can hate the stuff you mentioned but you hate the fact you can’t publicly put the actual blame on one individual your one of THOSE guys on here .
Let us know when Joshua even mentions fighting Jon Jones .

Fighting 2 top 10 guys in those years ain’t dominating Shyte . Psycho babble is what you actually represent on here you just don’t see that , news flash ….everyone else does .Tyson Fury, 8 years DOMINATING the only combat sport you can make big money at (just ask UFC champ Ngannou).
Easily masterclassed sitting champion Wladimir Klitschko, to end that dreadful era. Beat Wilder, his only solid competition, 2 out of three.
......And Tyson Fury takes all this Casual fans heat for taking a pass on who?????
Joshua? Ruiz? Joyce? Oleksandr Usyk????
Guys who's next humiliating loss is just another fight away?
Tyson needs to fight USYK???
That fake couldn't get past Daniel Dubois without taking a nap after 4 and a half rounds.
I mean......is there any other HONEST way to see it?
I don't respect Tyson Fury any more than any of the others named in the comment, but he's the world's champion, and the king of MMA, the only other living & breathing combat sport has thrown his silly UFC title belt in the trash to crawl up to Boxing's doorstep begging for a real payday against a real fighter, and the benevolent world champion has granted his request.
I call that greatness.
....and I'd rather see which sport produces the better fighters if kicking like a girl and rolling around like battyboys are removed as shortcuts the same way knives are; than I would watching flavor of the month Usyk running around like a sprinter until the first bodyshot lands and he folds like hot laundry.
It's just the facts we all must face, and I hope I haven't hurt anybody's feelings.
The champion fights who he wants to fight. World champion is NOT an elected office.

I get what you're saying here, and acknowledge that YOU aren't saying that Usyk isn't a draw, but there are absolutely people, and many of them, that claim Usyk isn't a draw at all, and will be fighting for peanuts without the "table scraps" from Fury. You may not be one of them, but they exist, and that notion simply isn't data driven.
For that matter, you make a lot of noise about Usyk's numbers coming from having a good dance partner, but the same holds true for Fury, as his 40K pull via Chisora indicates. If he gets any decent numbers from his next fight, I suspect it will be primarily casuals coming to support Ngannou. Fury's fan base has seriously diminished it with his antics.Comment

No way to say it without coming off as arrogant and I abhor arrogance....but what "Everybody else" sees doesn't weigh as much as a feather on this topic.
Boxing fans are notoriously simple.
History is the sole arbitrator on this one.
It isn't remotely subject to debate, youngster.
Tyson Fury is the world's champion, and he will remain so until:
1. He retires, and stays retired for 3 years (36 months), upon which time he relinquishes the right to still claim the title (See Jeffries). If he comes back within the 3 year claim period, he remains the champion, and the claim supercedes any and all title claims made during his absence, provided he allows the new title claimant a challenge (See Ali, Fury).
2. He is ill or injured and cannot be licenced to fight again.
3. He is beaten in the ring, under the Marquis of Queensbury rules.
4. He becomes deceased (dies).
So, regardless of how the popular vote turns out, Tyson Fury remains the one champion.
Adjacent Topic:
What kind of champion has Tyson Fury been?
Medicocre, I would say.
Oh, at 6'9" and able to move, hit and defend as well as he does, he would be a tough challenge for anyone ever.
But he has been only a fair steward of the crown at best.
Most of us simply assumed after showing the still dominant Klitschko to have feet of clay, that Fury would start defendingand cleaning his castle immediately. Until the "behaviors" began.
It began in 2016 prior to the rematch with Klitschko, the man he beat for the title.
The alcohol fueled mental health issues brought him down.
This is a serious set of ailments that I wouldn't wish on a worst enemy.
People, even in this day & age, look at mental health as something people can "wish away" with the power of positive thought, just as though the brain were a more simple organ than a hip, a knee or a heart.
The man needed medical intervention as millions sometimes do. And thankfully, he got it. And resumed his title reign.
Through the miricle of...well...greatness; he then Succeeded in re-securing his status as the best in a draw with Deontay Wilder, who honest and knowledgeable fight folks now acknowledge as by far the best heavyweight of this era after Fury; either of whom are multiple cuts above the others, like Joshua, Ruiz, Ortiz, Parker, Joyce, Helenius and Usyk.
Tyson Fury's is a tale of beating the odds and total Redemption! It's a brilliant story.
But boxing fans are not only typically ******, they are also fair weather friends!
They serve in the armed forces, patrol their beat, operate the machinery, teach school, coach field sports, show up at the construction site, sell things, repair broken appliances for their $40 -130k annual stipend, but when it comes to shooting for the tens or hundreds of millions a greater man can earn with his toughness; they stay on the easy side of the ropes, and feel tough saying ****** things about bigger and better men like Fury.
And it's all good fun. That's entertainment!!
But your complaints about HOW POORLY TYSON FURY HONORS HIS TITLE, they are valid!
Now granted, We've yet to witness Fury lose 2 out of 3 to Wilder, or lose repeatedly to big underdogs like Joshua, or come totally unprepared and hand his title back like Ruiz, or throw himself down disgracefully from a belt blow for 3 minutes to escape a stoppage loss like Usyk; but he commits his Own type of crime by Talking smack non-Stop while staying inactive and allowing the slick negotiators he's hired to plan his light title defense schedule, seeking only the best deals.
Regarding this crime, he's failed to treat being the champion with the same integrity and vigor as some of the title holders.
