Good for him. He already gets plenty of hate from people without them even hearing him speak before or getting any direct quotes from him. Why would he want to get anymore attention?
Why is Al Haymon too mysterious?

Just a try to explain, not sure if any of it is correct:
He’s just a silent promoter, he’s the wallet/connection of PBC, and the true boss. The guy you don’t see. He’s not the Dana White of PBC, he’s the guy who oversees the Dana White of PBC.
His promotion style is more like the other major sports, in that he pays for advertisements and connects fighters to the media. But he’s not a mouthpiece for his fighters.
For example, Canelo has never been on the Breakfast Club radio show…but as soon he signed with PBC, there he is, his first appearance there. And that’s a large audience. Also seen fighters on late night shows.
So I think Haymon basically pays the money for other people to advertise, and pays for commercials, banners, etc, and stays out of the way.Comment

It's hilarious how this guy is discovering who all these boxing people are in real time and sharing it with us
It's 2023 and he's asking why Al Haymon is never at shows and never shows his face like that hasn't been the case for like 20 years now

Uncle Al is just shy, he's a gentle soul who probably gets uncomfortable being around the scumbags in the media.Comment

Even Ari Emanuel, who's the guy who oversees Dana, gets outside every now & again tho.Just a try to explain, not sure if any of it is correct:

I'd love to hear Al do an interview or two some day. I think it'd help immensely with his PR which is somewhat of a problem because he keeps such a low profile in a sport where a more open profile is often demanded of ppl with power to some degree.Comment

All I gotta say about this is (and I said the same long ago) that PBC needs a front person, a spokesperson, a salesperson with a personality, someone outspoken and charismatic. I suggested Lou DiBella for this role a few years ago. PBC is such a big company, with a huge stable of almost 300 fighters. However, the company seems inactive, haphazard, and severely mismanaged. It could be way better.
As for Al Haymon himself, I 100% endorse his approach of total anonymity and freedom. He's a lucky guy. Get a front person.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 09-15-2023, 12:12 AM.Comment

Tim Smith is supposed to be that, but he'll just show up on a pod or two every other year & goof on GRJ for only fighting once a year. All I gotta say about this is (and I said the same long ago) that PBC needs a front person, a spokesperson, a salesperson with a personality, someone outspoken and charismatic.
