Boxing is a business. Period. None of these guys is scared of another at this level unless your name is Fury. Martin gets more money fighting Davis and does it on a bigger stage than he does fighting Martin. Could get the same money fighting Cruz as he'd get fighting Stevenson. Really that simple.

Truth is, Arum and duBoef should've secured the Lomachenko fight for Stevenson. they didn't. Couldn't secure Martin either. Shakur will realize his star power and eventually leave just like De La Hoya, Mayweather, and Cotto were smart enough to do.

Too bad we didn't get to see who is better between De Los Santos and Frank Martin. They were both available to fight each other this year, but apparently, Martin didn't want the smoke. He'd rather fight that European guy Harutyunyan nobody knew existed and who hasn't fought in a year.

Martin brought this onto himself! Shakur has to be smart, marketing is part of business and he has to know when to hold back that energy.. there will always be someone ready to bring up those street fight clips. According to Delos Santos, he was waiting for offers from Martin and Pitbull camps. No offers came. You know, people were wondering why his stunning, entertaining performance in his last fight didn't lead to anything other than get frozen for 10 long months.

Second time where De Los Santos is an alternative opponent. First time was in the fight with Jose Valenzuela, who was the PBC showcase guy in that fight. You can see Sam Watson standing beside him before the fight. Santos took the fight at a moment's notice, about a week before fight night. Meaning, he's the cherry in that fight.

He could pull it off again in this fight with Stevenson.
