I didn't say anything like that. Another victory over Canelo wouldn't have made him HOF or ATG, either. If Canelo really wanted the fight, why didn't he throw Bivol any extra incentive? What's a few million to Canelo? Why not at 168? Lowballing Bivol was a face saving move. Now Canelo is acting like he tried his best lol.

Some here need to start using their logic and common sense, who the hell is going to pay Bivol what he made against the ginger? Why not taking same terms for an easy night work? It isn't hating to point out the obvious fact that Canelo got whipped, all the bluster about wanting a rematch was garbage and now he is saving face. I get that you are a fan of Canelo, but pointing out the obvious is not "hating". Canelo wants the rematch but doesn’t need it. The loss didn’t hurt him at all. He was a free agent and PBC and Hearn offered a $100 million plus for his services.
Meanwhile Bivol took short money for his last fight and is struggling to find his next opponent.
Bivol had no leverage because he had no other options. He got the offer and didn’t except it which is his right but now he is where he is.

This thread is about whether Canelo tried his best to make the fight. He didn't. Bivol made clear that his preference was unification against Beterbiev. That fight wouldn't net him anywhere near Canelo cash. However, it isn't always about the money, especially if you're already a millionaire....and let's not forget that it is a sport. Canelo needed a rematch, Bivol didn't. Of course Charlo knows what time it is. He hasn't fought Canelo yet. Bivol has.
