You're not going to solve the problem without clear definitions of what you mean.
Dominating - as in the round may be scored 10-8 to the dominating fighter without them scoring a knockdown

These guys are not actually changing any rules, just clarifying what they’ve always been

Not referring to the Davis/Garcia fight, whatever happened there I don't care, but in general.
If you hit the canvas as a result of a legal blow, but your opponent didn’t. You lost the round. Another point deducted per knockdown

The only exception being that you dominated the rest of the round, enough to warrant a 10-8 for yourself. This rule is very rarely applied nowadays though. It was actually one of the replacement rules for the standing 8 count, which hasn’t been used by the ABC since the late 90s

Its not a difficult or controversial rule

"Dominating" is too ambiguous - and I gave two examples.

As long as you have different interpretations of what "dominating" means, you're still going to have one-off judges with 10-9 or 10-10 cards.

It is about time they are having this discussion. It should be a discussion. How do you score a round 10-9 when a guy is dominating the round, but putting the guy down…and the guy taking the punishment outs you down. It 10-8 on every knockdown regardless. That will end the score card controversy. 10-10 rounds should be rare and 10-9 rounds shouldn’t be scored when there is a knockdown in that round.

Because you didn’t put the guy down and he put you down. That’s why!

Why isn’t that domination round scored 10-8 if you dominate a guy the whole round and didn’t go down? There are clear reasons for this.

The same goes for the Kambosos vs. Lopez 1st round. Simple-minded consideration by a simple-minded commission during a simple-minded era.
They weren’t right scoring it 10-9 for Davis. That was a clear 10-8 round for Davis.

                  You read that backwards.

I said if you lose the round in every way and then YOU score the knockdown. You should only get a 10-9 round.

obviously, if you lose the round and get knocked down, a 10-8 is appropriate.

And I’m saying that the score should still be 10-8…

So whether you dominate the round or are dominated in the round, it's irrelevant. A flash knockdown erases all that and awards 2 points, 3 if the guy scoring it was losing the round. If you say so
